Stack Overflow Error Windows 7
Pack 3 (SP3) Question 0 Sign in to vote I've been running a stack flow error trusted old dos program on my new WindowsXP Professional Service pack2 Dell for a couple of months. I just upgraded to Service Pack3 and now it won't run? It get this error. "Error 2000: Stack Overflow" Has anyone encountered this before? Thanks GOBoy Wednesday, June 04, 2008 10:54 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote HT editor (http://hte.sourceforge.net/downloads.html ) can patch troubling exe-files with ease. It's the inital SP value in the mz/header you want to increase. Or you can use EXEMOD yourfile.exe /STACK newsize but sometimes you even have to patch EXEMOD first, that's where HT editor comes handy. Old fortran programs that worked until recently, now I get the same stack overflow error. I don't know the solution yet, google searching for one led me here. Hopefully we can find an answer. If the above hasn't worked then at least I gave it a try THANKS! Wednesday, June 04, 2008 11:49 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Robert, I tried all your suggestion and ev

If I reinstall WIndows XP the application runs fine. I am using the cmd.exe console in windows xp. The program ran with no problems on an xp machine last year, while a stack overflow code 2000 error was observed on a different xp machine error 2000 stack (easy fix - use the machine that works). I tried running the program on the previously working machine lately, and now am getting the same error. No changes to the os were made and I did not change the service pack version. Any ideas on how to get around this stack overflow error so I can use the program? Dosbox will at least open the program, however it does not run to completion.
