Recently, a problem started when I install various new windows applications (Itunes, Java updates, Roxio Disk software, etc.) I start getting the error 'Error 2000: Stack overflow' when I run the mapsym.exe program to create the .sym file

I use with symdeb to debug my assembly applications. So my masm, link, mapsym and symdeb are the exact same versions I've run for years, nothing has been changed, I've been able to run maysym for years also with no problem (Win 95, 98, XP), but my current problem is basically that after I install just about any new windows XP application, mapsym will stop working and report this same error, but I uninstall the application and mapsym will start working again and doesn't display the error. I've tried running mapsym on a couple other XP computers and found out it gets the same stack error on them so it seems to only work on my XP computer (maybe the only one in the world???), and only if I don't install any new windows software (or most windows software, I am able to load some applications with no Ill effects like fileZilla, Bugzilla, Skype, Digital Picture Professional).Codeview is not an option for debug since I run processes that spawn child processes several layers deep which codeview has issues with, I actually used to use codeview years ago for but this and other reasons I switched to symdeb for my debug use as it it much more robu

The application I am developing right now exchanges status likes between users who they allowed app to do that themselves. There is a users pool in my database and user links their facebook status to get likes and others users do the same thing in exchange. Only thing to avoid this situation creating stack overflow error new app in developers.facebook.com, but after few hours I am getting blocked by facebook again with error code 2000 "The specified feature has been temporarily disabled for this application." I am not doing any illegal thing afaik. If facebook doesn't allow me to do that, why there is a like permission in graph api? facebook facebook-graph-api share|improve this question edited Feb 17 '14 at 18:00 Kara 3,15773147 asked Feb 16 '12 at 16:59 Sercan Kucukdemirci 429 1 Have you verified you have not put Country or other restrictions in your Facebook app settings? It sounds like you're expressly violating Facebook policy by auto-liking things, so i wouldn't be surprised if that's why your app is restricted share|improve this answer answered Feb 16 '12 at 17:43 Igy 38.9k76798 i have
the computers would be Athlon vs. Intel. Works on the Intel systems that I tried it on but not the Athlon system. The exe file I am refering to is an old civil engineering application called KY-Pipe and has been around since the 80's. The file is called KY-Run.exe. Double clicking on it launches the DOS window...but not on this one computer. I think I remember having to work with "stack" statements in the config.sys file back when they still existed but they are no longer used. ------------------------- Followup To Question - I have an older program that needs to run in DOS mode to run. I have one computer that will not run the program. It gives a stack overflow error and closes instantly. The error is: Stack Overflow Error code 2000 It then gives some numbers for pc, ss, fp, and sp. Any idea where I should start to look to correct the problem? Answer - Hi Chad, We can get this running but I need to ask a few questions ;) You say you have one computer that will not run it what are the other computers operating systems that do run it? (might be able to just compare the settings on the computers) What's the program's name, is it a game or application, do you need to print from it etc? There is a DOS Emulator that may help: http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/ Hope this helped :) Derbias AnswerHi Chad, Config.sys/autoexec.bat type settings are still supported in XP but are located in the files C:\windows\system32\config.nt and C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt Try comparing the config.nt files from a computer which runs the program and the one that doesn't , You'll prob find Stacks is set in one but not the other, if they are the same try this on the computer not running the program: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314106 Hope this helps :) Derbias Add to this AnswerAsk a Question Related ArticlesJob Interview Answer: What Computer Skills Do You Have and What Programs Are You Comfortable Using?Using Computer Software - Wills and Estate PlanningUsing Modules and Procedures - Part 2malaga-bin - What is malaga-binmalaga-bin - What is malaga-bin Windows XPAll AnswersAnswers by Expert:LennySaed S
