not working. I wonder if any kind souls on this board could lend a hand. Here's some info:Windows Server 2003 SP2Exchange 2003 SP2iPhone version 2.0.1 (5B108)Everytime I try to sync up to the exchange server, it triggers the following event in the Windows Event Viewer:Event Type: ErrorEvent Source: Server ActiveSyncEvent Category: NoneEvent ID: 3005Date: 8/9/2008Time: 8:13:03 AMUser: DI\swieserComputer: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/937635 DISERVERDescription:Unexpected Exchange mailbox Server error: Server: [diserver.DI.local] User: [swieser@designandintegration.com] HTTP status code: [501]. Verify that the Exchange mailbox Server is working correctly. There is nothing I can do to get rid of this error. I have tried all of the suggestions that Microsoft's help file has for this particular error. Additionally, I have tried all of the following Microsoft KB articles:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/898131 (add host header for local netBIOS name)http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817379 (method 2; add new https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1655955?start=0&tstart=0 exchange-oma virtual server)http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883380 (method 2; reset exchange virtual directories)- I have a valid SSL cert (not self-signed); OWA works fine in https or http.- When I go to mydomain.com/Microsoft-Server-Activesync, I get an HTTP 501 error (not implemented), which is expected (or so I've read).- When I go to mydomain.com/oma, it tells me the device type I'm using is not supported (since I'm using a PC), but otherwise let's me browse through my email in a text interface. This is also to be expected (or so I've read).- I've tried putting the domain in my username and leaving it out, and I've tried deleting and recreating the mail configuration instead of just modifying it. Everytime, the phone says that my exchange account has been successfully verified, and that I have successfully configured sync with exchange. But, of course, no mail, no calendar, no contacts. Just a whole lot of 3005 errors in the event viewer.- I've tried turning on and off forms-based authentication in the exchange server. SSL is configured but not required. I've restarted the IIS services after each change I make.I honestly have no idea what to try. I'm tempted to copy & paste all of the details about my exchange configuration here, but I fear that no one would actually read this thread

I have a verizon 700 smartphonethat will not sync with my exchange server. Everything seems to be setup correctly. The front-end is running ssl and form-based authentication. SSl is enabled on the activesync virtual directory and basic as well as windows intergrated security is set. AllI'm getting on the phone is"Activesync encountered a problem on the server." support code:0x85010014.I don't believe this article applies to front-end configuration so I didn't perform the steps: http://www.petri.co.il/problems_with_forms_based_authentication_and_ssl_in_activesync.htm Also what should the default settings be on the virtual directory tab? Only log visits and index this resource is checked. Any help is greatly appreciated! You should have only BASIC on Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync directory and NO certificate on it. The cert should be on exchange virtual directory only. On the front-end server check the following directories: EXCHANGE --> BASIC authentication with SSL ACTIVESYNC --> BASIC authentication without SSL Backend server: EXCHANGE --> BASIC and integrated authentication (of course no SSL). ACTIVESYNC --> BASIC authentication. Also check the registry path at HKLocalMachine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MASSYNC\Parameters. If you see an EXCHANGEVDIR key on either FE or BE remove it. Run IISRESET on the servers and trying syncin. _____________________________Ibrahim Benna - Microsoft Exchange MVP Forum Moderator Navantis @IbrahimBenna (in reply to fubuki99) Post #: 2 RE: Activesync not working! - 7.Feb.2006 6:
