When kicking off the job, I received the following error: ERROR: Failed to open project http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21438172 Status code = 80011 But I have used dsjob -ljobs and -lprojects to confirm I have the project and job name correct. And the job runs successfully through the Director UI. Has anyone run into this before? _______________________________________________ datastage-users mailing list datastage-users@oliver.com http://www.oliver.com/mailman/listinfo/datastage-users _________________ PLEASE READ Do not contact admin unless you have technical support or account questions. I would have to guess that the username you are using when issuing the dsjob command is different than the username you use to log in via the Clients. The error, 80011, typically indicates a bad username. Dave At 04:20 PM 2/4/2004 -0600, you wrote: >We're executing a DataStage 6.0 job through the command line "dsjob" >utility. Cleaning my hard disk turned out as very useful activity. I found several hidden treasures that reminded me about these good old days when I spent most of the time by typing some code. (But claiming them good doesn't mean I want these days get back!) Today I want to share with you short script that we used for monitoring DataStage jobs. It utilizes well known utility dsjob to produce XML file. You can generate report for selected jobs by entering second parameter. Good thing is it runs on the server therefore you don't need to run DataStage Director. It might come in handy when you have slow connection and want to quickly check the status of your job. I remember we built simple CGI code on top of it to have some web interface. It facilitated our daily routine. But possibilities are endless. Here is the code: #!/opt/perl/bin/perl #dsreport.pl #usage: perl dsreport.pl YourProjectName YourJob #example: perl dsreport.pl QETL Dim # generates XML reports for all Dim jobs $project = @ARGV[0]; $jobname = @ARGV[1]; $cmd = "dsjob -ljobs $project|grep $jobname|"; open (IN,$cmd) or die "Error $?"; while (
