I've
Eac Sync Error New Cd
tried looking for answers to this but haven't come up with any solid answers. I've started ripping my CD collection with EAC
Eac Peak Level
and I'm about 12 CDs in and have already encountered 2 CDs where EAC gives read and sync errors on one or 2 tracks. Neither CD has visible damage, both play just fine in a CD

player and as best as I can tell, the rips sound just fine at the suspicious positions. One of the 2 discs was in AccurateRip and the track with the error could not be verified, but the log file stated that CUETools could repair the rip (incidentally, is this recommended and, if so, how do you do it?); the other disc was not in AccurateRip. I've tried 3 different computers with 3 different drives eac burst mode and I've also tried XLD on Mac with one of the discs and I never got an error-free rip. Since the CDs appear pristine and sound fine in a CD player I'm just wondering what could be causing the read and sync errors, and if there is anything else I could do to try to get an error-free rip or if I should just move on. Thanks in advance. mjb2006 Hero Member Joined: 12 May, 2006 Posts: 1,144 Logged EAC read error, sync error Reply #1 – 29 May, 2014, 02:58:31 PM Since it appears pristine but won't rip on any drive you've tried, the disc probably has a manufacturing defect that exceeds the capability of the disc's built-in error correction system. When the player or ripper encounters the trouble spots, it's fudging the audio data as best it can, and in this case it's close enough to be listenable. Some players and drives will be more tolerant of this disc than others. You can try experimenting with the ripper's settings; e.g., burst mode, and don't let the drive slow down... but in my experience, if several drives won't rip it, there's not much you can do.In CUETools, make sure the input mode is Folder Browser. http://cuetools.net/wiki/CUETools_Settings may be of some help here; you need to avoid "batc

When I try & Rip these exact audio copy read error sync error to Flac using EAC I get "Read Error" then "Sync Error". EAC slows down & tries again, sometimes to "X 0.1"! Eventually it'll get through to the eac secure mode end, but leave me with a log full full of information about errors that have occurred. Does this mean that the Flac files will in some way have inaccurate information? or is it just a note to tell me of problems that have been https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,105909.0.html encountered on the way but have been error corrected? Currently I have no easy method to check the quality of the Flac files as all sounds OK on the computer & I don't have a Squeezebox on my Main Hifi yet. Also....If all is fine with the Flac files above then the question below isn't necessary for me.... It was the CD autochanger I had in a car about 10 years ago the scratched up these CDs & when I realised what was happening I backed up those important but https://www.avforums.com/threads/eac-read-error-sync-error.452841/ damaged CDs onto CDR with Nero years ago. The original CDs still play fine, but get errors in EAC. Because it tends to be my more played CDs that are suffering from errors due additional wear & tear I have a backup of a few of these CDs in my car on CDR which I burned a few years ago. Would there be anything lost by Flac encoding from those? Is anything lost in the CDR convertion? Will I still get Track info from EAC? Thanks, Mark. Ripping on a different PC fixed it - no errors after a couple of retries. If you made the CDR backups by copying as .cda, they should be perfect copies. If the discs were already damaged when you copied them, any errors would be faithfully copied as well.
