called KACE support, and they can't figure this out either. The RSA is fully updated, powershell system error 1312 has occurred I've recreated the KBE, and still nothing. It gets a valid IP address - I've built the KBE with the "admin" a specified logon session does not exist map network drive password that I've used for everything else. I have a couple RSA's that are doing this when booting into an x64 KBE that I made with the KBE manipulator: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/119117/rsaerror.JPG 0 Comments [ + https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms681385(v=vs.85).aspx ] Show Comments Comments Please log in to comment Answers 2 The password is set under Settings and Maintenance | General Settings. At the command prompt, type: notepad startnet.cmd scroll through the file and look at your net use command, the password will be after www on that line. Make sure that is the password that is set under Settings and Maintenance | General Settings. The correct syntax would be http://www.itninja.com/question/error-1312-a-specified-logon-session-does-not-exist net use y: \\10.20.18.2\peinst password /user:www password however, try this manually: net use y: \\10.20.18.2\peinst password /user:10.20.18.2\www password to see if that works. We could ping the Kace appliance, but not map a drive to it using Net Use. Today, one of our Network guys got a crazy idea. He started a continuous ping of the Kace appliance and then shut it down. You can imagine our surprise when the ping continued! Using a different computer we tried an RDP session to the IP address. It worked. Bottom line is that it was a simple IP Address conflict and shutt

A particular user is required to issue scans across a CIFS, however that system error 1312 user (which has full read/write access) receives a "System error 1312 has occurred - A specified logon session does not exist. It may already have been terminated." That situation entails the following command: net use \\ShareHostname\Share /user:DOMAIN\user /persistent:no [password] The packet capture below displays this attempt. In the event I issue the same command without providing a password for the currently logged in user (different than the required user and only has read access), the command completes successfully. net use \\ShareHostName\Share /user:DOMAIN\user2 /persistent:no This problem originated when moving the application from a Win2k3 box to a Win2k8 on the same domain. The account that will not authenticate on the new machine does work on the Win2k3 machine, interestingly enough. In checking, I verified that for both machines the GPO "Network access: Do not allow storage of passwords and credentials for authentication" is "Enabled" on both machines and cannot be changed. I'm really at a wall trying to narrow down on this issue, and would greatly appreciate hints into extra troubleshooting steps or a possible resolution.
