I've tried everything without success!!! Full uninstallation of AcdSee V6 and V7 Cleaning the register with Ccleaner, Norton and TuneUp Utilities With Regedit delete of all references to AcdSee. Rename the databases. Reboot, install AcdSee V7 64 bits Always the same error!!! I can not find any reason for this error. the error message is not sufficiently explicit to find the reason!!! I can only stay in V6 until the next release. Greetings Andre Comment Cancel Post 1 comment #2.1 Joe commented 06-05-2014, 11:30 AM Editing a comment I had the same problem, but, solved it by disabling my antivirus before installing, then rebooting the system, and, thereby, re-enabling my antivirus. I have had no problems installing on WIN8.1, even without disabling my antivirus. If you are concerned about the possibility of having someone getting into your machine, with a virus, while you have the antivirus disabled, disconnect from the internet during installation. Then, re-enable, reconnect and update. Worked fine fo
crashing - solutions Connie01-01-2007, 09:09 AMThere are two fixes for initial install errors. Try the first, then restart Photo Manager. If that doesn't resolve the problem, then, try the second.

Neither will cause you to lose any data. 1) Question: I bought & installed ACDSee acdsee unable to connect to database Photo Manager 9. I installed everything as indicated with no apparent problems. However, now when I try to start the program, I

get this error: ACDSee is unable to connect to the database & will now close. Please make sure the following database is accessible from the computer, and then restart ACDSee: C:\Documents and Settings\User.Christy\Local Settings\Application Data\ACD Systems\Catalogs\90\Default As http://forum.acdsee.com/forum/acdsee-pro/904-acdsee-has-encountered-a-system-error far as I can see, this file path is there & should be accessible. Any ideas why I can't get into the program at all?? Solution - Delete the 'folder 90' Go to C:/documents and settings, select the profile you used for the trial version, open local settings, application data/acd systems/catalogs and remove the folder (90) that is inside. Than start ACDsee and the problem is fixed (and in the local settings there is created http://ozone.oscraps.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-818.html a new folder) 2) Question - ACDSee gives me an Error message after install -- The software crashes. Solution There may be an issue with the registry key that's holds the settings for ACDSee, we can try deleting this registry which will delete the settings for ACDSee. This step will NOT effect your image files or data. Go to the Start Menu | Run. Type in REGEDIT and hit Enter. Click on the + sign next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Click on the + sign next to Software. Right Click on the ACD Systems entry (Folder) and select Delete. Wnderlnd02-06-2007, 04:15 PMI can't even get the program to open now. i still have 3 days left on my free trial. When this has happened before, rebooting always helped. That isn't working now. Should I delete the registry? Should I delete the registry? You've been doing cataloging - I believe? Have you backed up the database somewhere? (I'd feel more comfortable knowing that you have a database somewhere - before deleting the registry). Some questions - when it won't open - do you have other programs open? like PS? Alan Trinder January 29, 2013 Facebook Twitter Pinterest Stumbleupon Whatsapp Email acdsee has encountered By far my favourite photo organiser software has been ACDSee. I have had versions Pro 4 to 6, 6 being the latest version. For some reason I am now getting a crash with the error window ‘ACDSee will now close.' I have asked ACDSee and done all they suggested with no success so the suggestion is (from them) that there is a conflict with Windows. Of course my Windows is kept up to date, so an update could have introduced something, but I would love to know if anyone can put a handle on this and give me a solution. Many thanks for all of the help, really pointed me in the right direction and couldn't have sorted it without the comments, Ta. Alan Wade January 29, 2013 at 2:04 pm "I have asked ACDSee and done all they suggested with no success" What did ACDSee ask you to do? Uninstall ACDSee with something like Revo. Run CCleaner to clear out any un-necessary junk files left. Run CCleaner reg cleaner to (hopefully) get rid of any remnents of ACDSee. Note you m
