When I run it manually from the Command Prompt it works well: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\CakePHP\lib\Cake\Console\cake mail read The Scheduled task Run field is exactly the same and the Start in is set to: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\tickets\app The Run as field is set as the computer admin which has all permissions (not the ISS user) Scheduled Task log shows this message when trying to execute it: "Ticket Mail System.job" (cake) 13/12/2012 07:15:00 ** ERROR ** Unable to start task scheduler error task. The specific error is: 0x80070005: Access is denied. It seems it is a permissions problem. I have tried to give over the lib/Cake/Consol/cake.bat file all permissions for both users, the IIS 6 user and the Internet Guest Account user, but still doesn't work. Any idea which could be the cause? cakephp scheduled-tasks cakephp-2.2 windows-2003-webserver cakephp-2.3 share|improve this question edited Dec 13 '12 at 14:56 asked Dec 13 '12 at 11:32 Alvaro 19.6k1055148 If you google the error code ("scheduled task 0x80070005"), there's a ton of troubleshooting to try: check event log, make sure it's running as an admin (that your admin user truly is part of the admin group), make sure task directory has correct permissions, make sure cmd.exe does, etc. –jeremyharris Dec 13 '12 at 15:03 I already tried those things :) –Alvaro Dec 13 '12 at 15:03 Got it! Hmm.. have you tried running as an IIS user and giving that IIS user permission to cmd.exe? (Not that admin shouldn't work...) –jeremyharris Dec 13 '12 at 15:04 Yeah, I tried it :) I played with permissions over cmd.exe and cake.bat. Nothing worked. But now I found the solution. Its in my answer. –Alvaro Dec 13 '12 at 15:08 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote accepted It worked well over Windows 7 but it didn't on Window 2003 Server. Solved error 'Could Not Start' for Server 2003 Scheduled Task Posted on 2008-06-24 Active Directory Windows Server 2003 2 Verified Solutions 9 Comments 1,861 Views Last Modified: 2010-04-21 Hello, Has anyone experienced and solved a Server 2003 Scheduled Task error 'Could Not Start' where the task runs after setting the password, manually clicking 'Run', and then scheduling to run automatically within the next hour or so before the day changes? The scheduled task is defined on a Server 2003 SP2 domain controller. When I then set the scheduled time to be 1 day in advance, the task does not run and we get a 'Could Not Start' error. After seeing the error, I set the password for the account the task runs under, then I can either manually run the task or schedule it to start within the next few hours and it runs fine. I do this daily and the task will keep running under these circumstances. I have moved the scheduled task to a different domain controller in our forest and the same circumstances happen. Anyone see this error and it so have a solution? 0 Question by:ISWSIMBX Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 8 Best Solution bySinder255248 Sorry been away for a couple of days. When you schedule a job it sticks your name into that allow list so that you can run the job as a batch user (instead of being logged on).
