a rather lovely barrage of error dialog boxes (see screenshot below). If you start getting Error 10810 in OS X, you likely won't be able to launch any other application (Finder included) and so the best https://www.cnet.com/news/finder-error-10810-in-snow-leopard-causing-problems/ thing you can do is to reboot your Mac. Yes, rebooting the Mac will fix the error - kind of lame, but it works. If you are continuously plagued by this error, then you may be using some buggy software that is launching itself into a gazillion threads causing Mac OS X to freak out. If anyone has additional information or troubleshooting tips regarding this error, feel free to chime in. For http://osxdaily.com/2010/02/09/mac-error-10810/ what it's worth, simply killing and restarting the Finder was not sufficient in my experience to resolve the error, which is why a complete reboot of the Mac was necessary. I noticed, on accident, yesterday that if I kick off Spotlight via Command+Space, and click on Show All, it will sometimes kick the Finder back into motion and restore my desktop icons, etc. Reply Aqilah says: September 18, 2012 at 8:36 pm Thanks a lot! really helpful patrick! I googled and it said to restart so https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3057605?start=0&tstart=0 I did. Didn't help. I found another site that says to verify and repair disk in disk utility. Well I tried that and it said The volume Macintosh HD was found corrupt and needs to be repaired. Then it says in a drop down box. Disk Utility stopped verifying "Macintosh HD. This disk needs to be repaired. Start up your computer with another disk (such as your Mac OS X installation disc), and then use Disk the application Utility to repair this disk.Do I do what it says or try something else? iPhone 4, iOS 4, iMac 27" i5 MBP 15" i7 -2011- iPad1 16GB wifi Posted on May 14, 2011 1:43 PM I have this question too Close Q: Finder error 10810 and Disk Utility Corruption All replies Helpful answers by Kappy, Kappy May 14, 2011 1:48 PM in response to hunt2013 Level 10 (271,770 points) Desktops May 14, 2011 1:48 PM in the application finder response to hunt2013 See this article: Finder Error -10810 in Snow Leopard causing problems. I had this same thing happen on my iMac when I first got it but it stopped somehow. Should I do the disk restore thing? After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified"
