remove the non-existent user from the Delegates list before you attempt to add other Delegates or change the Delegates outlook cannot delegate one or more items settings. 2- In some instances this error can occur if non-existent user granted Send on Behalf permission to user’s Mailbox; So please remove the non-existent user from Active Directory and then remove them https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/946208 from Delegate Tab in Outlook. If above procedure does not work then proceed below procedure. 3. As per MS KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2593557 When you add a delegate, Outlook also tries to grant "send on behalf of" permission to the delegate by default. This permission is written to the publicDelegates attribute of your user object in Active Directory. The issue can occur for the following reasons. • https://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/41829-getting-error-after-adding-new-delegates-the-delegates-settings-were-not-saved-correctly-cannot-activate-send-on-behalf-of-list-you-do-not-have-sufficient-privileges-to-perform-this-operation-on-this-object The global catalog (GC) server to which your Outlook client is connected is not local to your domain. If your Outlook client is connected to a GC that is not local to your domain, the publicDelegates attribute cannot be written to your user object in Active Directory. • The SELF object does not have the Write Personal Information right on your Active Directory user object. To resolve this issue : • At first add the SELF account with “Write Personal Information” rights on the user account Security Tab. If it is already added, remove the SELF account, and then re-add the SELF account with “Write Personal Information” rights. If the above steps doesn’t help you then proceed to Point-4 4. Outlook can be configured to enable you to add delegates without requiring you to grant the "send on behalf of" permission. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\x.0\Outlook\Preferences Note: x.0 in the above registry key represents your Outlook version. Please use one of the following values. Outlook 2010: 14.0 Outlook 2007: 12.0 Outlook 2003: 11.0 2. After you select the subkey that is specified in step

Posted in Microsoft Outlook http://www.techieshelp.com/outlook-2010-the-delegates-settings-were-not-saved-correctly/ In outlook 2010 if you are trying to setup delegate permissions http://davidvielmetter.com/tricks/delegate-settings-not-saved-correctly/ for users to be able to access your mailbox or give the rights to see your calendar then you may come across the following problem. After setting up the relevant permissions and you attempt to save them the following error pops up. The Delegates settings the delegate were not saved correctly. Unable to activate send-on-behalf-of list. You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object. To resolve this issue we need to modify a key in the registry. First run regedit and browse to the following key. HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Microsoft>Office>14.0>Outlook>Preferences In the right menu right lcick and select New DWORD value. settings were not Then name the DWORD IgnoreSOBError. Select the IgnoreSOBError DWORD now and change its value to 1. Then click OK. You will need to reboot the PC to make these changes effective. You will now be able to save the delegation permissions correctly.   Allen WhiteAllen is a Consultant for ITPS in the North East of England and holds the following accreditations. Below is the corrective action. Grant your self full access to the mailbox in question using the following comma

Exchange server, you can permit another user to view your calendar, tasks and email items. You can even allow other users to schedule meetings, write emails and create contacts on your behalf. This functionality is known as "delegate access" and has existed Exchange and Outlook for years. The issue I ran into today involved setting up delegate access for a legal secretary. She wants to profile emails for one of the partners at the law firm using the Prolaw XII Outlook add-in. The Prolaw add-in is designed to allow profiling of delegate email messages if delegate access is setup properly. [the problem] When a user tries to add a delegate in Outlook 2010 using Exchange 2010, he/she notices the following error: [The Delegates settings were not saved correctly. Cannot activate send-on-behalf-of list. You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object.] The delegate cannot be added as a result. Background: When you research the error message shown above, you will most likely stumble upon Microsoft KB article 2593557. This article has instructions on creating registry key (ironically named IgnoreSOBError) that suppresses the above error when adding a delegate. It is misleading in a way because once implemented, users can add delegates without any errors. However, the underlying security issue that caused the error remains unresolved and as such, third party add-ins do not recognize that a delegate has been added or authorized. The KB2593557 fix just suppresses the error message in Outlook and lets you add a delegate without the proper permissions. As a result your third party add-ins do not recognize that a delegate has been added: [solution] The instructions below address the security issue in Active Directory and resolve the problem at its root cause rather than ignoring the security error Outlook throws when trying to add a delegate. [requirements] domain administrator account username and password basic understanding of Active Dir
