Solved Cannot delete dial up modem connection - "Verizon Wireless VZAccess" Posted on 2010-07-22 Networking Hardware-Other Windows Vista 1 Verified Solution 15 Comments 3,070 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-27 I am unable to establish a working connection with a Verizon Wireless UMW190 USB modem. All previously installed Verizon VZAccess programs were uninstalled. The most up-to-date version of VZAccess Manager has been successfully installed, and it successfully is able to activate the modem, and update the coverage area. I am running a fully updated copy of Vista Ultimate SP2 64bit. When I attempt to establish a connection, I get the following: Connection failed - The remote computer did not respond Error 678 I've attempted trouble-shooting with 3 different Verizon Wireless technicians. They have each come to the conclusion that what is needed is for me to delete the connectoid "Verizon Wireless - VZAccess" within Network Connections. They are of the belief that this connectoid is corrupted; and that if is deleted that upon restarting the VZAccess program that that connectoid will be rebuilt (or reestablished?) and that the modem should then be able to work. Unfortunately, the "Verizon Wireless - VZAccess" connectoid is greyed-out and seemingly cannot be deleted... I'd like help deleting that modem connection in order to see if doing so will indeed resolve the overriding issue that I cannot make a working connection. Thanks! 0
