I have used my Marconi ethernet modem for the last 18 months to connect to the internet. Since Saturday I get the message: "Error 678: remote computer did not respond" when I try to connect to my ADSL. Friday night everything worked, Saturday morning, when I tried to connect i could not. I have phoned Telkom numerous times with no luck. I have tried to reset the modem a couple of times, with no success. The http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/48804-Error-678-remote-computer-did-not-respond "DSL LNK" & "DSL ACT" lights flash continuesly. I can acces the modem's web interface settings via 10.0.0.2 but the WAN address is not available. Thus, my computer can comunicate with the modem, but cannot connect to the internet. I connect directly to my modem and internet. I have 3 other computers who also access the internet through my modem via a LAN. currently I'm connected to the internet via the LAN and another Marconi ADSL Router (same type of modem, both from Telkom) through another pc. Any ideas on how to fix my modem so I can access the net via my own modem? Thanx for all the help. ======================= Windows XP Pro. Not good. If you use another router without hassles on the line, then the line isn't at fault. You settings are either buggered or (methinks) your router is greeting you... First turn the router off and unplug it from power for a minute or so. Reconnect and see if it wo

I have an LG Imprint on metroPCS, and a Windows 7 laptop. I've managed to enable the cabled DUN in the hidden program menu on the phone, and I've set up the dialup connection settings as show below: Code: Number: "#777" Username: "[mynumber]@mymetropcs.com Password: "mymetropcs" But whenever I try to connect I get the following: Code: Error 678: The remote computer did not respond. To make sure the server can be reached, ping the remote computer. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm at a loss and if any one can explain to me what I'm doing wrong I will be extremely grateful.
