Are you using IPv6? 0 Chipotle OP Ramze Krish Aug 29, 2013 at 3:22 UTC Try to disable the IPv6 on the domain controller https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/375570-dfs-replication-errors-the-remote-procedure-call-failed-to-execute and then test to see if there is any RPC communication error in the “dcdiag". 0 Jalapeno OP badvok Sep 3, 2013 at 7:12 UTC Thanks for replies and apologies for the deplay in coming back, dcdiag shows no errors and disable IPv6 creates more errors, looks like there may be a problem with the line as getting dropouts on remote access and the RPC error has enlighted us a little further as it is now saying the RPC failing as not responding in timely manner. I will update as soon as I have further information 1 Jalapeno OP badvok Sep 23, 2013 at 10:04 UTC Sorry for not getting back sooner - firewall issue - missed by three different individuals 0 This discussion has been inactive for over a year. One in Houston the other in Dallas. When running REPADMIN /SHOWREPL on the Houston server I get error the remote 1727 The Remote Procedure call failed and did not execute. When running REPADMIN /SHOWREPL on the Dallas server I get error 1726 The remote procedure call failed If I restart the server in Houston, the same command shows success and it will work for a couple of hours with zero issues. Unfortunately I cant restart this server all the time to keep it replicating. I dont know if this is important or not but as I was writing this I the remote procedure realized that nearly every time it fails, it does it just before midnight. of the day that I restarted it. If I restart it around 7 or 8 PM it will work until right before midnight. I do not have anything happening that I am aware of at that time though, so any help I can get would be much appreciated. These servers worked fine for a long time and this error just started happening in the past few weeks. 0 Question by:jonmenefee Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google Active 6 days ago Best Solution byjonmenefee Here is the solution Turns out the Switch (Smart Switch) was not allowing packets over the size of 512bytes to be sent out from the ports.
