I have an ISA 2004 SP1 firewall running on Win2k3 SP1. Machine has 2 NIC's and is protecting my private network from an untrusted network. It is configured to do routing from the Internal to the External network. 1. I have a server running an HTTPS page on port 8443 on the external side. 2. 1 access rule which allows all outbound traffic to http://forums.isaserver.org/SSL_over_non-standard_SSL_port/m_2002015586/tm.htm this device (mainly for testing at this moment) 3. A port definition for Outbound TCP 8443 (so the server knows about this traffic, no application filters assigned to the port) When not using a proxy server at all I can connect to this server 100%. When using the proxy server i received the documented "Error Code: 502 Proxy Error. The specified Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) port is not allowed. ISA Server is not configured to allow SSL requests from this port. Most Web browsers use port 443 for SSL requests. (12204)" error. I then went and followed TShinders article "http://www.isaserver.org/articles/2004tunnelportrange.html" and restarted my Firewall service. The error has now changed to "Error Code: 502 Proxy Error. Connection refused(10061)" When I remove the SSL 8443 definition i created it returns to the "SSL port is not allowed error". Really strange stuff and unfortunately this article has not seemed to resolve my issue. I would appreciate some ideas to push me in the right direction.
