I'm presenting the screenshot that I took now , I'm writing question from my mobile and there's no network problem as I'm able to write it , then what's the problem and how to fix it? I did a Google search but all the issues were 4 years back, every body is talking about gingerbread in those youtube there was a problem with the network 410 posts, I'm running Android lollipop! youtube share|improve this question edited Apr 17 at 9:59 Izzy♦ 63.2k31158450 asked Apr 17 at 9:15 brainst 112 Not using that – but when reading "network error" and "401" in one line, it lets me think of the HTTP response code (which means "authorization required"). Have you tried logging-out/logging-in from the YT app? It's just a wild guess, as a "wrong password" should result in a 403 (not 401). –Izzy♦ Apr 17 at 10:01 just logout from YouTube ,it will fix the problem. –user177190 Jul 18 at 20:28 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote If you're internet is otherwise working fine, it looks like it could be an issue with the YouTube App itself. Try clearing cache and data for the YouTube App. This will effectively reset the app back to default settings and you will have to log back in. Go to Settings -> Application Manager -> YouTube -> Storage -> Clear Data and Clear Cache. Hope that helps! share|improve this answer answered Jul 14 at 11:53 altobobcat 63 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote Go on to app store and search YouTube then delete it it will leave you on the last update don't update it as it will start showing the error 401 again share|improve this answer answered Aug 15 at 10:42 joshua 1 add a comment| up vote -1

Are you sure the phone account is setup right? For example, you should also have a Google account configured under settings > accounts. Similarly, in the Youtube app you should be able to pick an account by clicking the account name at the top of the options menu. Rob Triggs, Aug 1, 2014 #2 (You must log in or sign up to reply here.) 15 Comments Filed Under: Android Tagged: google play I recently started getting "Download unsuccessful" errors on my Android device whenever I tried to upgrade or download an app using Google Play. This seems to be a common error for the entire line of Android devices. Luckily, the fix was easy for me. If you're experiencing the same problem, give these steps a try. Fix 1 - Restart First, give a power down and restart of your device a try. Be sure to power it completely off. Unlock the screen. Press and hold the "Power" button until a menu appears. Select "Power off". Wait for the device to power off. Wait 10 seconds, then press and hold the "Power" button to power the device back on. See if you can download items now. Fix 2 - Clear App Data If a power down didn't fix your issue, try these steps. Open "Settings". Select "Applications". Select "Manage Applications". Tap the "All" tab, then scroll down and select "Google Play Store". Select "Clear cache". Back out of the screen and select "Download Manager" (May also be listed as "Downloads"). Select "Clear data". Also clear data for "Google Services Framework", "Google Apps", "Google Hangouts", and "Checkin Service". Some users are reporting they had to clear data for the "Browser" and "Chrome" apps as well. You may not see all of these apps listed on your particular device. See if downloading from the Google Play works now. Of course, this works with any Android device.
