Invalid Annotation Object Adobe Error
2009-03-27 14:43:27 pughmd Registered: Mar 25 2009 Posts: 7 I've used the "typewriter" tool and have drawn/inserted numerous lines all over my pdf and them Adobe stopped responding the document could not be saved. there was a problem reading this document (14) and had to shutdown. It recovered my document, however, i get the message acrobat there was a problem reading this document (14) "invalid annotation object", which comes with the question mark balloon and only an "OK" button to click. I click this button and a thousand more of these messages come in succession...the tickmarks and lines I had previously inserted come back one by one but don't stay...it's been an endless cycle of this aggravating message. Any constructive suggestions on what to do or what not to do in the future? btw I'm using Adobe 9.0 standard My Product Information: Acrobat Standard 9.0, Windows Top 2009-04-22 06:21:54 #1 lkassuba Registered: Jun 28 2007 Posts: 3636 What program was this PDF created in? Both instances involved documents I created by scanning directly from a Xerox DocuMate 250 into Adobe acrobat. If it helps, the PDF producer is listed as Adobe Acrobat 9.12 Paper Capture Plug-in (PDF Version 1.6 (Acrobat 7.x). Also, I've created maybe a hundred documents this way. Scanning and then marking up with the typewriter and this "invalid annotation object" has only come up twice. Submitted: 5 years ago. Category:Computer Share this conversation Expert: Nilesh replied5 years ago. Hi, and thank you for choosing JustAnswer. I would like to assist you regarding this issue. First, try to open any other PDF file for which Adobe is not showing any error, and then close Adobe. Next, open the document for which you are having the issue, you http://www.justanswer.com/computer/4n2nn-adobe-invalid-annotation.html will need to find the corrupt pages and delete them. The easiest way to find the corrupt pages is to use the up and down arrow keys, rather than scrolling. Once you find the corrupt pages, you will delete them and re-insert new clean pages.Customer: Thank you, I will try that.Nilesh: You won't be able to re-insert clean pages until after all the corrupted pages have been deleted.Customer: Because the program kept locking with the error messages; I wasn't able to delete the pages, so we just deleted the file and re-scanned. an Adobe Acrobat 9 document, I had just saved the file (CTRL+S) and the document froze and I got a Windows error box that asked if I wanted to send http://adobe.acrobat.windows.narkive.com/aE1tLgWw/invalid-annotation-object-error an error report, which I did. When I opened Adobe again, it http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1597365 asked if I wanted to open the last file which didn't save correctly, which I did. Then when I proceeded to work in the document and tried to highlight a sentence I was going to delete, I got an Adobe Acrobat popup box that said "Invalid Annotation Object. OK" but no matter there was how many times I clicked on "OK," the box kept popping up and wouldn't go away. I tried saving a copy of the document, but the same box was in it and wouldn't go away. I couldn't even work in the document to extract pages or anything else. Huge problem!Does anyone know what can I do to resolve this problem? (This happened on there was a a Saturday when Adobe phone support is not accessible.) I had to delete the corrupted pages through the "Document" menu and start them over again. Hope that helps! I had spent over 3 hours adding my annotation and comments as that was the point of using this program...so I don't really want to revert to the original file as this has now happened four times, on each occasion that I have tried to annotate this.Distiller...not sure what this is or how it will help?I have tried
