You would have to request another copy of the file (or there was a download it again) and see if it now works. If not, notify the originator of the file for a freshly prepared copy. You will get more and more of those errors. Updating the Adobe Reader is not so bad, if you do as needed when needed. But you really should do it. There were (more than) several security issues that the up dates addressed. (The loss of Data due to not updating would be worse than the trouble of the updates) The newer Docs (.pdf) are protecting you from bad bugs that had been hidding in the old versions. Again Up-date.!. (don't tell you don't keep you anti-virus up-dated because it's too much trouble. Same
