Trend Micro For Mac Review
Joined: Jul 19, 2001 Messages: 989 Several times tonight I've gotten the following message from Windows Security Center: Virus Protectiion Out Of Date Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security reports that it might http://esupport.trendmicro.com/en-us/home/pages/technical-support/1038598.aspx be out of date. Click Recommendations for suggested actions you can take. Yet when I click on my PC-cillin Internet Security icon I get a message informing me that my antivirus settings meet recommended levels, so I figure I should be protected. However, whenever I click on PC-cillin's Update Components, I get this message: Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security An error occurred while https://forums.techguy.org/threads/why-does-windows-security-center-report-that-my-antivirus-program-is-out-of-date.598513/ connecting to the Internet. Please make sure your Internet connection is properly functioning and try again. It doesn't make sense to me that I should be getting these error messages. I have more than a year left on my PC-cillin subscription, so it definitely should not be out-of-date. Also, I am already online and able to check e-mail and surf when I get the message telling me that an error occurred while connecting to the Internet and that I should make sure my Internet connection is properly functioning. I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who is able to tell my why I am suddenly getting these inappropriate error messages. Thank you very much. wgreene, Jul 21, 2007 #1 Sponsor Elvandil Joined: Aug 1, 2003 Messages: 51,988 You should update your antivirus about once a week, if not more than that. When was your last update? Do you have automatic updating turned on? Elvandil, Jul 21, 2007 #2 wgreene Thread Starter Joined: Jul 19, 2001 Messages: 989 Thank you very much for your reply. I do have the automatic update turned on. It reads as follows:

I have Pc Cillin 2003. Just wondering, when I try to do update it says check trend micro internet connection. If you're behind proxy enter settings etc. I dont have proxy but I am in a network. Just wondering where I can find out what ports to open up. Thanks 01-04-2004,10:27 PM #2 tweak\'e Guest Re: Pc Cillin 2003 whats the exact message? has it recently been installed? or has the update been working fine untill recently? 01-04-2004,10:31 PM #3 Kibito Guest Re: Pc Cillin 2003 An error occurred while trying to access the trend micro smart internet. Please check your internet connection and try again. If you connect to the internet using a proxy server, check the Pc cillin proxy settings. I just installed it about 2 weeks ago maybe. Updates never worked though. Also while I'm here, I have a problem with norton which is why I'm using Pc cillin. I try and install 2004 norton and it keeps having an error during the installation. It just says an error occurred during installation and could not be installed etc. I don't know why but it's like I had Ws32. Walla or something infect all my files and I had to use panda to clear it off which I'm not sure if it did properly Anyway it all started cause my win xp pro install screwed up after a while cause of the virus I'm pretty sure so yea. Bit of a dilemna. Norton won't install :/ I even did the preinstall virus check :/ 01-04-2004,10:40 PM #4 tweak\'e Guest Re: Pc Cillin 2003 try manual updates here 01-04-2004,10:42 PM #5 Kibito Guest Re: Pc Cillin 2003 K thx Any ideas on the norton thing? 02-04-2004,01:45 AM #6 nadius Guest Re: Pc Cillin 2003 with norton 2003, if you have the "terminal services" service disabled, you can't install norton. maybe 2004 is the same... go to start/run, type in services.msc and have a look at terminal ser
