Unable To Establish A Session With The Password Export Server Access Is Denied
i haven't quiet been able to figure out yet. I have (Domain A) and i have (Domain B) (both on win2k servers) completely diterent domains running on the same network. Domain B is a completely new domain, New Forrest. I need to migrate users from domain A to Domain B using ADMT(2.0) but keep getting and error after selecting the domains. Access denied (error code=5, domain=Domain A) I unable to establish a session with the password export server. the rpc server is unavailable understand i have to create trusts between the two domains to get this going? is there something im missing? If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated 0 Question by:BCSITS Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 7 Best Solution bydjMundy Hi BCSITS, This article helped me a lot with migrations: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=fa187d1e-8218-4501-9729-222bd8ebb64c&displaylang=en Although it talks about Small Go to Solution 2 Comments LVL 7 Overall: Level 7 Active Directory 2 Windows Networking 1 Server Hardware 1 Message Accepted Solution by:djMundy2007-12-19 Hi BCSITS, This article helped me a lot with migrations: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=fa187d1e-8218-4501-9729-222bd8ebb64c&displaylang=en Although it talks about Small Business Server, a lot applies to standard Windows Server environments too. If you read from Step 4 it walks you through creating DNS forwarders, configuring ADMT, and then how to migrate the user and computer accounts. If you follow these steps it will create the trusts for you. Domain B is a completely new domain, New Forrest.... You need to establish trust at the forest not domain level since your new domain is in a new forest. http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/library/7929b0c4-efe1-409c-99e3-efe9815f426d103

can use a single service account for the entire migration. Here is the procedure: 1. Create an account in the Target Domain 2. Add this account https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/23032790/Domain-Trusts-and-ADMT.html to the Domain Admins group in the Target Domain 3. In Source Domain, add this account (from target) to the built-in administrator group (not Domain Admin) If you get the following error message, make sure you have the proper permissions in both source and target domains. Let me know if you have any more questions. fernandoronci says: December 21, 2010 at 3:13 PM Reply Thanks for responding.After reviewing and checking all permissions, DNS configurations, trusts, etcam performing cross forest migration from 2 AD forests, multiple domains into a new AD forest. When I added one of the domains within a source forest I received the following error:ADMT is unable http://clintboessen.blogspot.com/2011/07/admt-is-unable-to-connect-to-domain.html to connect to domain controller\\domaincontroller.sourcedomain.local, in domain sourcedomain.local. Access is denied.(0x80070005)Morgan Che posted up multiple causes for this error on the following forum thread:http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/winserverMigration/thread/f0e341f2-d00c-4bf7-925f-250af8530440I had a different problem to the ones mentioned on the above https://blog.netnerds.net/2006/07/admt-add-new-domains-admins-to-local-administrators-programmatically/ forum thread. One of my forests was setup with whats called a single labelled domain name. ADMT was having difficulties communicating with all domains within the single labelled forest.To resolve this on the ADMT server unable to I needed to add a DWORD registry key "AllowSingleLabelDnsDomain" with a decimal value of 1.ADMT was then able to communicate with all domains in the forest which had a single labelled root domain.For more information on this registry key please see:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/300684 Posted by Clint Boessen at 10:16 PM Labels: Active Directory, Windows Server General 6 comments: Vee Eee TechnologiesDecember 19, 2011 at 4:44 AMI have no words for this great post password export server such a awe-some information i got gathered. I am getting the same error, just a different scenario. What would you do for this?I am having difficulty migrating a DMZ domain to an internal domain. I just need to migrate users, groups and passwords. The target domain is DomainA.net (a tree root domain of RootA.com) which is in the RootA.com Forest with 4 total domains. The source of the migration is DomainB.net in the RootB.com Forest (also a tree root domain). Both domains in the RootB Forest (RootB.com and DomainB.com) are in the DMZ. There is a one-way Forest trust (That is Transitive) between RootA.com and RootB.com (RootA.com is listed as a Domain trusted

Otherwise, the error log shows something similar to the following: WRN1:7290 Processor architecture for machine \NT4MACHINE is unknown, Error accessing registry key SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment rc=5 Access is denied. Failed to install agent on \NT4MACHINE, rc=5 Access is denied. Unable to access ADMIN$ share on the machine ‘NT4MACHINE'. Make sure the share exists and the account running ADMT is a member of local administrators group on the machine ‘NT4MACHINE'. hr=0x80070005. Access is denied. Here is a basic script that will go through each of the Windows workstations on the old domain and add the new domain's "Domain Admins" group to the workstation's local Administrators group. If the machine is a Windows Server OS, it will be ignored. Change the newDomain and oldDomain variables to match your network. newDomain = "NEW2K3"
oldDomain = "OLDNT4"
