add switches to the mix. I'm using a 3600 series router and then adding in the correct module to simulate a switch and I get all of the full features of CLI. The only issue is that when I go to start dynamips error connection lost the router I keep getting the following error: error:209-unable to start VM instance. I did look thru the GNS3 forum and the root cause appears to be a Unicode error. I'm not to terribly familiar with Unicode so had to read up on it. Still not sure if I have a full understanding or not. I've tried to compare the setting I have with the 3700 routers that I have up and running Vs 3600 router and I'm not able to see any differences. Can anyone make any troubleshooting recommendations to see if I can get this fixed or not? thanks ***Freedom of Speech, Just Watch What You Say*** Example, Beware of CompTIA Certs (Deleted From Google Cached) "You have no idea how limitless you are when you are not afraid of what other people think of you or limits to your abilities" - Dan Pena Quote Login/register to remove this advertisement. fluk3d Senior Member Join Date Jan 2008 Posts 141 Certifications Too many to list here 05-13-201206:17 PM #2 GNS3 • View topic - 209-unable to start VM instance 'ghost--localhost.ghost' Quote mella060 Senior Member Join Date Jul 2009 Location Australia Posts 195 Certifications CCNA 05-14-201203:30 AM #3 Are you sure the path to the IOS or the name of the IOS is correct ? To make things simpler, i usually just create a folder called IOSImages under gns3 in c drive/program folders and put my IOS images in there. Then in gns3 under edit/IOS images hypervisors point gns3 to the images. The router shows a green colour. But, it's not running. The "start R2" command does not work. I get the "error 209".ReplyDeleteAdd commentLoad more... http://commonerrors.blogspot.com/2011/06/gns3-error-209-unable-to-start-vm.html Newer Post Older Post Home Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom) Labels 100-101 (2) 642-813 (6) CCNA lab (7) CCNP labs (22) Cisco (6) GNS3 (28) GNS3 1.0 (12) GNS3 IOS (10) GNS3 Labs (37) ICND1 lab (4) ICND2 200-101 (4) IOS download (10) ipv6 lab (1) is-is lab (1) juniper (8) MAC (1) MPLS Lab (1) ospf labs (8) Packet Tracer tutorial (1) Routing labs (16) Switch labs (8) virtualbox (12) windows 8 (8) Followers Blog Archive ► 2016 (5) ► July (5) ► Jul 10 (1) ► Jul 08 (2) ► Jul 06 (1) ► Jul 05 (1) ► 2015 (15) ► November (2) ► Nov 30 (1) ► Nov 25 (1) ► September (1) ► Sep 05 (1) ► August (8) ► Aug 30 (2) ► Aug 09 (5) ► Aug 02 (1) ► July (1) ► Jul 26 (1) ► January (3) ► Jan 25 (1) ► Jan 21 (1) ► Jan 18 (1) ► 2014 (29) ► December (4) ► Dec 28 (1) ► Dec 27 (1) ► Dec 24 (1) ► Dec 19 (1) ► November (6) ► Nov 26 (2) ► Nov 10 (1) ► Nov 04 (3) ► October (3) ► Oct 22 (1) ►

time. This post covers some of the more common errors in GNS3 and how to fix them. GNS3 is a free, open source network simulation tool you can load on your PC to run Cisco router simulations. When installing and running GNS3 you will inevitably run into errors that prohibit the tool from performing properly. The following GNS3 errors occur: Error: 205-VM R0: unable to add binding for slot 0/0 routers must be turned off before making connections between them make sure you have the correct slots installed on the router right click the router select configure select the router - R1 select the tab "Slots" add modules to the slot - which modules can I add? Sure these labs follow the CCIE blueprint, but I try to create short, concise posts, which also makes them great training material for your CCNA and CCNP preparation.
