Even though there are 3 more drives available, any job that attempts to use the one bad drive or tape will time out and cancel, so I lose about 25% of my jobs. I have tried 5 new batches of tapes. Replaced the scsi cards, replaced 3 tape libraries. Loaded all service packs and bios updates. I am running Arcserve 2000 Sp3 on Windows 2000 SP3. Using 2 MIniexpress Libraries (Overland) with Quantum super DLt drives. Overland has worked with me through all the possiblities, even exchanging 3 new libraries. However, if you received any other errors with it such as: E6096 Media Error [ABSL:... Then I would test the "bad tape" in a different drive to confirm that you don't possibly have a hardware failure in the drive. 0 Tabasco OP https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/288561-unrecoverable-data-error-unable-to-write-to-media MJB969 Jan 8, 2013 at 3:37 UTC Thomas, I did get the E6096 error before the E3719. The drive reported an error 6 which is either tape or drive failure, but it doesn't know which. Then it wanted to be cleaned. My backup last night worked fine, so I'm leaning towards a bad tape. 0 This discussion has been inactive for over a year. You may get a better answer to your question by starting a new discussion. Posted by Blackside on 4 Dec 2002 10:43 Hi, Im using Win2K server sp3 Arcserve2000 with Dell PV 120T and im having the same errors... I have searched the web (andCA)for months but havent found anything regarding this issue. For me the errorappearson an unregular basis. I run 6 of my 7 tapes in daily set and use the 7th tape (which i changemanually)for weekly and monthly sets. The error appearsrandomly on the daily tapes... One week everything runs ok and another I get the error on one random tape. I have removed the tapes that have had errors and replaced them whit new ones but it doesnt help.... Im stumped!
