It tells me to press enter and when I do, nothing happens. Also, my display looks a little odd. Please help. MS lists this as a debugger interupt. debug would be sitting, http://discussions.virtualdr.com/showthread.php?82-EMM386-error-01 waiting for keyboard input. what apps do you have running in background/loaded in startup or autoexec that might be running a debug routine ? I get the error: emm386: Unrecoverable privileged error #00. Press enter to reboot... I also have SMARTDRV loaded in my autoexec. If I disable either emm386(this gives me no upper memory access) or smartdrv this error disappears. This is not a solution! I recall that error #00 is a software error and as such I may have to reinstall DOS (I'm currently using DOS 6.2). If anybody has any information concerning this problem I would certainly like to hear it. I'm encountering the same problem and it seems to be related to a combination of emm386 and smartdrv on my GATEWAY's as well. My disk access is terrible without smartdrv, so for now i'm giving up on emm386. I also would like to be able to load devices HIGH, like I was before. Seems to me this problem came on suddenly. Does anyone have a clue on how to defeat it, or what this crazy emm386 error #0 means? thanks!!!
