every step of SSRS Configuration process. But if I try to access my Report server http://localhost:80/Reportserver and Reports Manager unable to bind to the underlying transport for 8080 http://localhost:80/Reports, I got the same error, Page Not found, I reconfigured

my SSRS 2008 many times thru SSRS configuration Tools, But no use. Finally I checked my Event the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process iis viewer, here I saw some error like, Unable to bind to the underlying transport for 0.0.0.0:80. The IP Listen-Only list may contain a reference to an interface which https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc727839(v=ws.10).aspx may not exist on this machine. The data field contains the error number. Solution: I saw some article which says, "SSRS 2008 is IIS-Free, Microsoft has severed the IIS dependency for SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) in the 2008 version, according to a couple sources" My Default port number of My IIS Server is 80. SSRS 2008 http://blog-mstechnology.blogspot.com/2009/06/unable-to-bind-to-underlying-transport.html configuration is using 80 as a port number, So that both are conflicting. Now I changed My IIS Server# to 81, and then I checked my report server. It works fine for me. Even if you stop your IIS server also, it will works without changing port number. But if you want to use both, you must change. Hope it helps you! at 12:52 PM Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest Labels: SQL Server 2008, SQL Server Reporting Services Posted by Babu Akkandi 2 comments: AnonymousAugust 14, 2009 at 6:44 PMlol, I just went through the same sequence, only eventually thinking to check the event viewer. Except... I found this post instead of said article. Thanks, you probably saved me some hair.ReplyDeleteAnonymousNovember 18, 2009 at 12:50 AMIt worked for me, tanks.ReplyDeleteAdd commentLoad more... In order to do so without endangering the whole server, I want to force the user to authenticate before connecting, which means requiring TLS. Unfortunately, the 443 port on that server (xxx.xxx.xxx.120) is taken by another application (a web mail system that uses its own HTTP server) so I added unable to bind a new public IP to the server (xxx.xxx.xxx.120) and added a binding in IIS for port 443 on this new IP: I also made sure that the other app is NOT bond on 0.0.0.0:443 but uses the specific IP address. Finally, I ran netstat -ano | find ":443" and got this: TCP xxx.xxx.xxx.120:443 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 3016 TCP xxx.xxx.xxx.120:443 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 3016 xxx.xxx.xxx.120 is the initial server IP address, the new one being xxx.xxx.xxx.122. For good measure, I also ran netstat -aon | Find "xxx.xxx.xxx.122:443" (the new IP) and got nothing back, as expected. Unfortunately, when I try to start the web application, I got this error message: This error is the one IIS throws if IP:Port it tries to bind to is taken and yet netstat clearly say it is available. What am I missing ? Edit: There are two events in the system event log when I attempt to start the service: Log Name: System Source: Microsoft-Windows-IIS-W3SVC Date: 7/19/2014 11:59:44 AM Event ID: 1004 Task Category: None Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: xxxx Description: The World Wide Web Publishing Service (WWW Service) did not register the URL prefix https://XXX.XXX.XXX.122:443/ for site 2. For more information refer the article "Running ISA Server on Windows Server 2003", link given below. This is a general procedure to configure port binding of HTTP , but this example is related with ISA. When you run ISA Server 2000 and Microsoft Internet Information Services 6.0 (IIS) on the same computer, you may experience issues with the ISA Server Web proxy service (W3proxy). By default, IIS listens on all IP addresses. This prevents W3proxy from binding to port 80 for Web publishing. To resolve this issue, follow these steps: 1. Install the Windows Server 2003 Support Tools (included with Windows Server 2003), and then locate the Httpcfg.exe file. 2. Run the Httpcfg.exe utility to configure HTTP.sys to stop listening on all IP addresses. To do this, type httpcfg delete iplisten -i 0.0.0.0 at a command prompt. 3. Configure HTTP.sys to listen only on the specified IP address (usually the internal IP address of ISA Server) by typing httpcfg set iplisten -i ip-address at a command prompt. 4. Stop the IIS HTTP service by typing net stop http at a command prompt. 5. Stop the ISA Server Web proxy service by typing net stop w3proxy at a command prompt. 6. Restart the IIS HTTP service by typing net start http at a command prompt. 7. Restart any related IIS services. For example, type net start "World Wide Web Publishing Service". 8. Restart the ISA Server Web proxy service by typing net start w3proxy at a command prompt." ------------------------------- "Use Netstat command to determine the other application usin
