Alsa/asoundlib.h No Such File Or Directory Ubuntu
(http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1046137) to install the latest version of alsa, but undefined reference to `snd_pcm_close' now I have no sound at all. The command aplay -l gives: aplay: device_list:223: no
Undefined Reference To `snd_pcm_open'
soundcards found... and the command cat /proc/asound/version produces: cat: /proc/asound/version: No such file or directory So I no longer have a directory /proc/asound. If I alsa asoundlib.h not found ubuntu open the window system>preferences>sound there are no entries under hardware or output. I have tried to re-install alsa with this command: sudo apt-get install --reinstall alsa-base alsa-tools alsa-tools-gui alsa-utils alsa-oss linux-sound-base alsamixergui but still no sound. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. zerekNovember 4th, 2010, 09:42 PMbump on this one. install libasound2-dev Got same problem. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place but not sure where to post this. This is related to my other post "how to record pcsx game play to video file" but is also an issue of it's own. I downloaded the source from sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/peop...d%20SPU%201.9/ I extracted it to a folder then I ran Code: make from terminal after editting the make file to include ALSA MAKEFILE Code: ############################################################################## # MAKEFILE FOR THE PEOPS OSS SPU... just run "make" ############################################################################## ############################################################################## # 1. SETS (CCFLAGS3 is used) ############################################################################## # Set to TRUE to build the ALSA support USEALSA = TRUE # Set to TRUE to disable the thread library support - helpful for some Linux distros NOTHREADLIB = TRUE ######
