Time Capsule Unexpected Error
Superjudge2 I also have this same problemWhen opening Airport utility it says my current firmware is 7.3.2 and that 7.4.1 is availableEven though I updated this the other day it still says this, so I click Update Firmware anywayAt this point it tells me that network services will be unavailable while it updates.Sure no problem, except that services (ie: internet) are still available while it 'searches for latest firmware' endlessly - it just keeps going without ever finding the firmeware or anythingmeanwhile, I can not go to manual setup to locate printers etcAny help? Date: December 06, 2009 07:14PM i'm trying to configure an airport express ("n", i think) airport error 6753 through my airport extreme. after airport utility finds the express (connected with ethernet), i attempt to configure it manually and eventually get airport express unexpected error yosemite an error message that says, "an error occurred while reading the configuration. "make sure your apple wireless device is plugged and is in range of your computer or connected via ethernet and try again (-6753)." we have https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1932172?start=0&tstart=0 a macbook 2.4 running ox 10.5.8 through an external firewire drive and our primary network is through an airport extreme. the airport extreme has firmware v.7.4.2 and the express has firmware v.6.1.1; i downloaded the v. 6.3 update, but when i tried to apply it to the ap express it found the device, went through the update process, but did not successfully perform the update ("An error occurred while attempting to communicate with http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1,846196,846203 the AirPort Express. Plug it directly into the computer via ethernet. You could also try a reset on the AirPort Express. [support.apple.com] Good luck. - Winston ------------------------ Be seeing you. Then I think administration will work OK through the AirPort Extreme. - W ------------------------ Be seeing you. 20 I have just switched from BT to Virgin (cable) broadband but can no longer get Airport Express to work. The A Express unit is plugged into my hifi amplifier and is only used to http://www.mac-help.com/threads/airport-express-no-longer-findable-on-new-network.221572/ stream audio wirelessly to the amp. My iMac (OS 10.7.5) is connected by cable to http://www.finetunedmac.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=35600 the router for internet access. Airport Utility continually searches but states that No configured Airport Base stations have been found. Using Airport Utility I entered -several times- the name and password of the new network but that information seems not to be retained i.e. under Configure other. It says Reading settings but the wheel spins endlessly. After 10 minutes I unexpected error get this: An error occurred while reading the configuration. I have also tried to set A Express to its default position but the software does not achieve this. I tried Airport Help which tells me to select the device I wan to set up but I don’t see the device. All I see is under Window the name of my new network. I’ve read that I need to reset the A Express unit but do not an unexpected error see how to do that. There is a very tiny button (?) which I have tried to push in with a paper clip but to no avail. Wonder if any tech expert can help me. I don’t understand why it’s so complicated -I’ve always thought that the whole point of Apple products was to make life simple for the user! Thanks. When you switched Internet providers, the name of the Wi-Fi network probably changed. That could be why the AirPort Express (AE) cannot be seen, as it cannot connect to the new network. Follow the steps in the link below exactly for your specific model. It can be a little tricky to push the reset button properly. An Apple Store should also be able to reset the AirPort Express to factory defaults for you.
