Posted on 2015-10-15 Web Browsers 1 Verified Solution 10 Comments 86 Views Last Modified: 2016-03-21 I am experiencing a issue when trying to update a browser from IE9 to IE11 on a workstation running Windows 7. Once Installation of IE11 is completed, the computer is restarted, and IE11 is launched, I continuously received the message of "A https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/28744287/Internet-Explorer-11-error-message-A-unexpected-error-has-occured.html unexpected error has occurred". I have to press Ctrl, ALT, and Delete to end the process. I have completed the following steps: 1. Reset IE from the browser. 2. Uninstalled/reinstalled the browser. 3. Checked on updates for the drivers from http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect. 4. Opened cmd.exe with Run as Administrator and applied the SFC /SCANNOW. 4. Upon reviewing the event log at the time I received the unexpected stopping of IE11, I show the follow information (See Attached File). Does anyone have any suggestion of what still may be causing IE11 not to install. IE9 works fine once I uninstall IE11. What steps would I need to take next? Reimage machine? I appreciate your feedback. Spam Profanity Threats/Abuse Inappropriate Virus/Danger Broken Links Other Thanks, but since none of the operating systems suggested match our existing system, please allow me to ask a couple more questions: What is this reboot.bat file supposed to do so I can asses whether one can run it on WS2012 or not and what the consequences could be. Than you for looking into this! Will this also cause the host operating system to reboot? This Tech Guy × Close Why do you want to report this? Spam Profanity Threats/Abuse Inappropriate Virus/Danger Broken Links Other Hey there @davisaviation ,When you install the program the first time, the installation process “registers” these components with Microsoft Windows so that it knows where they are and that they are executable pieces of the program. Reboot.bat is a series of commands that will re-register all of the necessary program components with Microsoft Windows. This process will not harm any of your data nor will it prompt your system to reboot. IntuitJonahMae × Close Why do you want to report this?
