You can resolve this error by creating a new list. Don't try to select the DL automatically, because it will just pick up the old one. Go to your contacts list and and select the new distribution list from there. Good Luck.

I have deleted the distribution list and re-created it but to no avail. Any suggestions??? I believe all the email http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/an-unexpected-error-has-occurred-using-a-distribution-list.2956861/ addresses in the list to be valid and did re-create the list with the same name. I haven't tried recreating under a different name. I need a suggestion asap. Thanks. -- Cindy https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/20951068/Unexpected-Error-has-Occurred-when-I-press-the-send-button-on-MS-Outlook.html Guest, Jan 6, 2007 #1 Advertisements Guest Re: 'An unexpected error has occurred' using a distribution list I had the same problem and just now figured it out. My new distribution unexpected error list did not exist. THAT is when I put the list name in the to field, the OLD list name was coming up (which was very similar to the new list name). once I limited it to the new list name, all was fine. Then I press OK, it just sends me back to my email editor screen. It doesn't crash on me, nor gives me an error number. The email I was trying to send included 2 MS Word attachment. The size for those attachments are 114KB, and 255KB. 0 Question by:mnhim Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 65 Best Solution byrockiroads does the error occur when you try to send without any attachments? Does it happen in all the email accounts that you have got (assuming you have more than one) Disable firewall or any anti-spam software temporarily and check if it would work Make sure you donot have set rules or add-ins that might cause this issue Try doing "Detect and repair" going to help menu before sending the email and check if it will solve the issue Try going inside outlook in safe mode (start --> run --> outlook /safe) and try sending message.. Check if that would work Also check for virus and spyware in your system 0 Message Author Comment by:mnhim2004-04-12 I am using Outlook 2002, from the MS Office XP CD.
