This happens when I use SelectTaskField or SelectTaskColumn. Even when I record a macro and let it run immediatly after stopping the recording, this happens. Sometimes it works if I restart MS an unexpected error has occured in quickbooks pro 2014 Project, sometimes not. MS Knowledge Base tells me something about setting absolute IDs as a preference for recording a macro-it doesn't help. But it nevertheless should work if I only use VBA code. Do you have any ideas about this problem? Daniel Daniel Reply With Quote 06-12, 09:28 AM #2 Re: An unexpected error occured with the method Hi, What's the code that causes the problem? Moving the cursor to tasks to read/write data is completely unnecessary and causes slow and problematic code. For example if you try to move to a task that has been filtered out or to a sub-task that is not visible your code errors out. Use: activeproject.tasks("My Task").work=8*60 Don't move to the task then edit, it simply isn't robust! -- Rod Gill Project MVP Visit www.msproject-systems.com for Project Companion Tools and more "Daniel Engelschalt"

occurred with the method AutomationException: 0x800a03ec - An unexpected error occurred with the method Contents SYMPTOMS CAUSE RESOLUTION http://j-integra.intrinsyc.com/support/kb/article.aspx?id=149261 SYMPTOMS When accessing Microsoft Office Project Professional 2003 (11.0.2003.0816.15) from a Java client which invokes the getValue() method of TimeScaleValue object for several times, you http://microsoftepmsolution.blogspot.com/2009/05/service-pack-2-for-2007-microsoft.html may get AutomationException: 0x800a03ec - An unexpected error occurred with the method. CAUSE This is a bug in Microsoft Project which prevents holding references unexpected error to a certain number of TimeScaleValue objects, and you will get the same 0x800a03ec error in C# or VB.NET client when retrieving the Value property of TimeScaleValue object in a loop which iterates more than 10 times. The garbage collector of .NET or Java is not clearing up the references an unexpected error fast enough. RESOLUTION To workaround this problem, wrap your codeusing trackObjectsInCurrentThread/releaseAllInCurrentThread and place a call to release(...) at the end of the loop to force garbage collection. For example: for (int iSlice = 1; iSlice <= nSlices; iSlice++) { com.linar.jintegra.Cleaner.trackObjectsInCurrentThread(); TimeScaleValue tsv = new TimeScaleValueProxy(tim.getItem(iSlice)); //your code: ... com.linar.jintegra.Cleaner.release(...); com.linar.jintegra.Cleaner.releaseAllInCurrentThread(); } Related Articles No Related Articles Available. Summary is shown below;Language packs - Fields that were inaccessible from within Project pro are availableActive Cache checkin pending issuesSaving to previous versions of mpp file formatsscheduling engine fixes, VBA issues and Gantt Chart ProblemsSee below for full list of changes to Project Standard/Professional 2007;1Consider the scenario in which a project has been edited and saved by one user and then while that user has the project open, it is force checked in. Then, a second user opens the project and clicks Cancel on the message telling them that the project has been modified by another user. The second user opens it again and instead of seeing the message again, the project opens, and the edits of the first user are lost.2Custom code that uses the Project object model to update custom field lookup tables did not perform quickly. For instance, code that updates 1000 lookup table records that used to take about two minutes now takes a few seconds.3For Project Professional languages that support phonetics, the custom field "Add Field to Enterprise" functionality does not work if a custom field has a lookup table and if any of the phonetic values are blank.4If changes are made and saved to a checked-out offline project and then the project is published immediately after Project Professional is connected back to the server, Project may not actually publish the information.5If the Active Cache size limit is exceeded when you save an already-open project, you receive a warning message telling you the cache size has been exceeded. However, the project is not saved.6If you assign a cost resource to a task using the resource initials field, Project crashes.7If you have a Fixed Units task with a Must Finish On constraint, when you edit timephased actual overtime work, the task behaves like a Fixed Work task instead. This means that when you change the task's duration, the assignment's units change instead
