However, that only got me to the point where Preview now opens what were marked as Adobe Reader files (now most are marked as Preview files). For the only Adobe Reader marked file left, opening this file restored my ability to open Adobe Reader marked files with the Adobe Reader software. How do I now restore Adobe Reader icon markings so that Adobe Reader opens ALL PDF files with the trailing ".pdf", no matter how they the file icon is marked. I hope I do not have to re-save all of these files with the Adobe Reader icon markings!!Is this change associated with the 8.x Adobe Reader or MacOS 10.4.11, as I know Apple would like that I have a preference for Preview, but my experience to date with Preview has not been as good as Adobe Reader? It uses a program called Folio Views which runs in Classic. I was having trouble with the program, an unexpected error so I reinstalled it. When I attempted to open it, I got an error message saying the operation could not be completed because of error code -10660. Classic appears to be running properly, and the CD-ROM drive appears to be in good order. The program worked fine until about a week ago. I have not been able to find error code -10660 on the Apple website. Can you help? Options Mark as New Bookmark Subscribe Subscribe to RSS Feed Highlight Print Email to a Friend Report Inappropriate Content 08-08-2013 11:46 AM I upgraded from x5 to x6 a short while ago, and I remember it was a real hassle getting Word to accept the change - but unfortunately I can't remember what I had to do in the end to make it work. As a result, when I downloaded x7 for Mac yesterday I was too nervous to uninstall x6 first. So I did the regular install on x7, but it didn't appear in Word 2011. Then I uninstalled x6 using the built-in uninstaller - but it's still there in Word. So I tried running the CWYW install for x7 using Customizer, still no joy. So then I tried removing the x6 menu using Word's toolbar preferences and deleting the package from the Word Startup file. x6 is *still* in the dropdown menu, and x7 still isn't visible. I really need to get on with my writing! Can anyone help?
