can think of (there are NO .Net problems anywhere! The C++ runtimes are good)There are no hardware errors for any NIC on any machine. The ethernet switch was rebooted as well. All other database applications (MS SQL) work just fine. All shares work just fine. No hardware events indicating any problems at all.Everything I've tried does not work and the event logs still show this error no matter what company file is opened. (The server is running Win 2008 R2 x64 SP1 fully patched, workstations are Win7 x64 SP2). In addition no software has been installed on any of these machines in several months. We run ESET (and real-time scanning exclusions were made for the server share). The network is gigabit ethernet & traffic is almost non-existent (no heavy traffic apps running & no traffic jams as per router logs) & the PCs are all Quad Core, 3.4Ghz, 8GB very high end boxes. There are no indications that anything BUT QB Enterprise 2015 is at fault! This happened after an automatic Quickbooks update 2 days ago (02/25/15). QuickBooks and the QBWin.log (Part 1) January 10, 201337 Comments Written by William Murphy As the number and expertise of QuickBooks users grows, there is also a growing interest in understanding how QuickBooks works, and why QuickBooks errors https://www.sleeter.com/blog/2013/01/quickbooks-qbwin-log-part-1/ develop. Central to what is happening when QuickBooks reports an error message, or fails to verify, is the QBWin.log file. There are a lot of complexities to understanding the QBWin.log file; however, in most cases of data corruption the log displays significant information in plain English. This article will examine some of the error messages you might identify and give you some tips on resolving some of them. What unexpected error is the QBWin.log and How Do I Find It? Each time QuickBooks is started, the program creates a log of program activities, the QBWin.log file. This file captures a wide variety of data about the operational aspects of the QuickBooks program, including access to the Database Server Manager (when running on a network or in multi-user mode), the file path to your Company file, and the start-up and/or got unexpected error closure of various ‘services’ or system-resource requests. It will include information generated whenever the Verify, Rebuild or Clean-up utilities are run. The QBWin.logfile also stores information about fatal errors, unforeseen conditions, and other QuickBooks messages. While the log file was initially intended to be viewed by Intuit’s Technical Support personnel to assist them in diagnosis of problems or data-file issues, there is no reason that QuickBooks Users can not view this file for exactly the same purpose. Intuit has made it easy to gain access to the on-board product support screens where we find this file. With your QuickBooks Company file open, press the F2 key to display the Product Information window. Press the F3 key to display the Tech Help window. Select the Open File tab. Scroll down the list of files until you find the QBWIN.LOG file. Click once on the file name to highlight it. Click the Open File button The QBWin.log file will open in Windows Notepad. Typically you are interested in events near the very end of the file. This is especially true if you have just run either the Verify or Rebuild utilities. Scroll to the bottom of the file, then slowly scroll back-up the file to wher
