I am trying to hint that you should verify the encryption option you selected match the security options on the access point side of things is the same as the what you selected on the pc side of things. –Ramhound Apr 4 '13 at 14:00 | show 3 more comments 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote accepted This problem is mostly caused by moving an account from one computer to another and also moving symantec settings to the new computer (using easy transfer). To solve it open regedit, go to HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\services\RasMan\PPP\EAP. In each of folders look for keys with a backup file (example config backup file would be ConfigPath). Delete every original file and rename the backup to the name of the original file (configbackup to config) share|improve this answer answered Feb 1

I am using a IOGEAR Wireless-N USB 2.0 Adapter. The drivers are the latest ones. No wireless networks are showing up. Whenever I try to manually connect to a wireless unexpected error network, I receive the message "an unexpected error has occurred". I am unable to troubleshoot it or continue. At first i thought it may be the adapter, but it works fine on other computers. I also tried a different adapter with the latest drivers installed; same problem. I tried a direct connection, and I am able to connect perfectly. It's solely a problem with the wireless an unexpected error and thus it leads me to believe that windows 7 is the problem. I'm running 32 bit windows 7. (the drivers are 32 bit for the adapter). Tried a fresh install as well. Same issue. I have a fully updated version of windows. I've been trying to solve the problem for several weeks, I need wifi for this computer. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! This is NOT a router problem. I have 4 other pc's, all which are able to connect flawlessly. My issue is with windows refusing to even let me create some form of connection. Please attach a screen shot of the Networks page (don't collapse the Radar, Connection or Signal History) of the Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector. If you need help with that see TSG Posting a Screenshot. FWIW to take screen shots with Windows 7 or Vista I prefer to use the built-in Snipping Tool. Also show ... Open a (black) Command Prompt wind

The Network symbol is saying there arewireless networks available but when I click 'connect to a network', it says Windows cannot find any networks. I have tried setting up a manual connection but it then says 'an unexpected error occurred'. The Adapter is an Atheros AR928X Wireless Network Adapter and having run their Diagnostics Utility, the test results show my I.P address is 0.0.0.0. and says you have not configured your computer to use the client adapter. Can anyone tell me how to set this up, please.
