Since the machine running the DB manager is also a domain controller, there are no local administrators, just domain admins. This is a mission critical server that gets lots of heavy use, so if something is broken, I need to know. The presence of the error also creates a barrier to getting assistance when we place support requests with Microsoft, Dell, or other software companies. Thanks,Chris Comment Asked by cdmoore1972 QuickBooks 2014 & Older, United States Options Edit Ask for details Archive hide info × Close Why do you want to report this? Spam Profanity Threats/Abuse Inappropriate Virus/Danger Broken Links Other Answer In my review of Windows Event Reporting logging, "returning NULL QBWinInstanace Handle" Event ID 4 is artificially elevated. It simply indicates, "We confirmed if there is already an instance of the program running." http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/Articles/SLN41261 http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/Articles/SLN40997 Here's a useful page: http://www.office911.ca/QuickBooksErrorCodesMessages.htmThe Server Manager should be updated to the newer QB program being used.
