When I click https://windowsforum.com/threads/an-unexpected-error-occured-while-trying-to-access-network-properties.43813/ on "Properties" I get a message saying "An unexpected error occured." Tried this solution on Microsoft KB, didn't work - I get an error when I enter ole32.dll in the "Run" box. This is the error: "C:\Windows\System32\ole32.dll module was installed, but DllRegisterServer failed with the error code 0x80070005." Thank you. #1 yoyorocks, Jun 9, 2010 Trouble Noob WhispererJoined:Nov 30, 2009Messages:13,845Likes Received:832 yoyorocks said: ↑I'm trying to access the network settings on my Windows 7. 09 Mar 2013 #1 guapo View Profile View Forum Posts Junior Member Posts : 6 windows 8 Unable to access properties of my network connection. This is a fairly new install of Windows 8 pro (within the last month), http://www.eightforums.com/network-sharing/21814-unable-access-properties-my-network-connection.html and while trying to set up a static ip up today I found that I was unable to access the network properties or disable the connection in the Network Connections. I am pretty stumped as I am the only user of this computer and from what I can tell have the correct permissions to do so. When trying to check the properties it tells me "an unexpected error has occurred" with no further information. Has unexpected error anyone had this problem and found a fix? Under Computer Management, Local Users and Groups>Users, you should see your name an unexpected error there, under the Member Of' Tab, you should be listed at a member of the Administrators and Home Users.
