Solved! http://www.xtremevbtalk.com/tech-discussions/192360-unexpected-error-quitting-solved.html Hi Everyone, I have noticed a number of people experiencing a problem when launching http://itknowledgeexchange.techtarget.com/itanswers/unexpected-error-has-occurred-message-in-outlook/ Visual Basic 6 where it crashes immediately after displaying the splash screen with a cryptic "Unexpected Error, Quitting" message. There a few different "solutions" to this problem (including a microsoft KB article) that I discovered by digging around, none of which solved the problem of my particular case. Basically, VB6 requires the DCOM Server Process Launcher service unexpected error to be active (which it is by default) in order to load. Some setups have this service disabled for security reasons, and there are even other programs out there which will disable it (or allow you to disable it), such as DCOMBobulator (from GRC.com). You can use DCOMbobulator to allow it to restart, or you can go to the Services control panel and restart it there. Hope that this helps someone unexpected error quitting out there! I had in fact switched the DCOM service to Manual. gabehamilton View Public Profile Find all posts by gabehamilton #3 05-15-2007, 04:28 AM tomy_va Newcomer Join Date: May 2007 Posts: 1 Thank you JPB! found this after a lot effort..really grateful! You can resolve this error by creating a new list. Don't try to select the DL automatically, because it will just pick up the old one. Go to your contacts list and and select the new distribution list from there. Good Luck.
