You can resolve this error by creating http://itknowledgeexchange.techtarget.com/itanswers/unexpected-error-has-occurred-message-in-outlook/ a new list. Don't try to select the DL automatically, because it will just pick up the old one. Go to your contacts list and and select the new distribution list from there. Good Luck.

I have deleted the distribution list and re-created it but to no avail. Any suggestions??? I believe all the email addresses in the list to be http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/an-unexpected-error-has-occurred-using-a-distribution-list.2956861/ valid and did re-create the list with the same name. I haven't tried recreating under a different name. I need a suggestion asap. Thanks. -- Cindy Guest, Jan 6, 2007 #1 Advertisements Guest Re: 'An unexpected error has occurred' using a distribution list I had the same problem and just now figured it out. My new distribution list did not exist. THAT is when I put the list name unexpected error in the to field, the OLD list name was coming up (which was very similar to the new list name). once I limited it to the new list name, all was fine.
