certain way.1) install the software to a directory in your root directory of the system hard drive.trying to install into the default ,windows\program files (x86) will likely to get you into lots of troubles.2)don't install CDDAO. EAC has hard times running without it.don't make it worse. 3)add to the software installation directory wnaspi32.dll, aspi layer you can get it from the Nero website.Windows 7 and Vista don't support win32 aspi anymore.open Eac,Eac options ,interface tab, check install external aspi.4)open EAC,go to EAC options, directories tab.write down an extraction directory, make sure it is placed in the root directory of your system hard drive.by any means, don't use browse.5) go to compression tab, external compression tab.uncheck use external program for compression.6)go to your desktop, look for the EAC shortcut.mouse right-click.properties.compatibility tab.check run this program in compatibility mode for Windows xp sp3.check disable visual themescheck run this program as an administrator.click apply.again, you can't make the software's crashes completely disappear but you can reduce them significantly.hope i helped.Ofer btw: don't get EAC 0.99b5 from the official website,it points you to two download sites where the installation package contains a Trojan.be careful. My primary purpose is to use Exact Audio Copy without having to reboot back to Windows. I re-downloaded the installation executable, ran it, and installed it into my external hard drive. When I then tried to get wine to run it, it will give me the initial "Exact Audio Copy is starting up... Please Wait!" but then a second window opens. The second says the following message: "Unhandled http://askubuntu.com/questions/266039/getting-the-following-error-message-in-wine-when-i-try-to-run-exact-audio-copy exception - [X icon] at 0207ADF0 -> ACCESS VIOLATION" Cancelling the window or hitting "ok" cancels wine entirely. Any ideas? wine share|improve this question asked Mar 9 '13 at 23:42 user136862 112 Why don't you just use one of the native Linux audio extractors, like sound-juicer? –psusi Mar 10 '13 at 4:22 EAC is generally regarded as the best ripping program due to the quality of the rips. Is sound-juicer as good? –user136862 Mar 16 '13 at 20:48 If you have a decent drive, then it doesn't matter what program you use, you will always get a correct rip. For older/buggy drives, sound-juicer uses the original bad rip correcting program: cdparanoia. –psusi Mar 17 '13 at 1:03 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote I did the following to get it working: cd ~/.wine/dosdevices/c\:/Program\ Files\ \(x86\)/Exact\ Audio\ Copy/ or wherever you installed EAC to. regsvr32 sql* Goto EAC options (F9) and Change the interface to "Installed external ASPI interface". share|improve this answer answered Jan 1 at 12:11 cheffo 15117 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service.

I can no longer launch Exact Audio Copy--all I get is this error message: Unhandled exception at WndProcs.741 ->INDEX-RANGE How do I clear it? EAC on wine in ubuntu has worked fine for me at least unhandled exception error since Feisty. Now all of sudden it won't even start, and on the rare occasion it does start it refuses to recognize my cdrom drive (nor does Cdex), no matter what I do in Winecfg. My other win apps that do not rely on cdrom drive appear to work normal. It worked thru the update to Hardy (actually fresh install in my case, but I have a separate /home). So something in the recent updates appear to have caused a conflict. I tried reinstalling, deleting ~/.wine each time just to make sure, even reinstalled EAC. Does anyone have ANY idea what happened? I've tried the EAC forums, but not much help over there. Oh, and I got it to work briefly with wine 1.0-rc1, but celebrated too soon because it died after that. I've tried a half dozen older versions, but none of them help now Last edited by logos34; June 1st, 2008 at 12:00 AM. Starter Location: Southern California It just stopped working. I kept getting an error message about an Unhandled Exception. I figured the files must have gotten corrupted, so I uninstalled the older program and installed version 1.1. Same thing - it says it's starting up and then the the Unhandled Exception message appears again. I even tried an older version (1.0) to no avail. I would greatly appreciate a solution. Thank You. I tried that but it didn't work for me. I downloaded an older version of EAC, and that one works. I appreciate your time. Dennis DennisF, Jan 23, 2016 #3 (You must log in or sign up to reply here.)
