neither worked. When I tried to run it using an icon it too gives me an error. I tried to run it using Control Panel. This gave me a different error. It said "An exception occured while trying to run "C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL "C:\WINDOWS\system32\QuickTime.cpl",QuickTIme".Applecare suggested I find a board somewhere and tell them my problem and see if anyone there knows what to do.I'm on XP if that matters. (Sometimes they can't be deleted if system files on the PC still "have hold" of them. But a restart is usually enough to break the grip.) Every symptom is consistent with another application (other than QuickTime itself) having dropped old QuickTime componentry in a non-standard location on the PC. So let's go looking for that. You'll need to make sure you are set up to view hidden files and folders in XP.1. Open My Computer from the desktop or Start menu.2. In the Tools menu, click Folde
