Solved Corrupt folders on NTFS volume, Chkdsk crashes Posted on 2013-05-02 MS Legacy OS MS Server OS Windows Server 2003 1 Verified Solution 6 Comments 1,171 Views Last Modified: 2013-08-07 We have a windows 2003 Storageworks server that has many corrupted folders on one volume. We have tried to run CHKDSK both from restart and from command window using the /x option. The CHKDSK program runs for about 8 hours then quits with the following message: ... Then log of chkdsk message is attached. This was caused by a hard shutdown on the server. The volume resides on an HP MSA 60 SAS with 6 750gb drives in Raid 5 attached to this server. Any suggestions on how to get this files structure corrected? 0 Question by:pccbryan Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 46 Active today Best Solution bydlethe chkdsk is not really designed to fix busted files as much as to write things off and prevent further damage.
