This just happened recently, I didn't drop my Wii or anything. But anything I use my SD card with on my Wii, nothing can be edited or written to the usb loader sd card SD Card. I get errors from the Wii menu saying: "The SD Card is locked. To save, move, or erase data, please unlock the SD Card" Hbc apps like WiiMC give me errors like: "Error writing sd1:\apps\wiimc\settings.xml" and "Error saving" Configurable USB loader will sometimes work when I try to download cheats but most of the time i get a random error. I also can not download cover art either, and if I try to it makes all my

covers disappear. (Until I restart the app) I have tried using a new SD card, formatting it with the official SD card formatter. Both the SD cards are 2GB. The SD cards work just fine on my computer, just not my Wii. Is there any way I can mod my Wii to make it ignore the SD lock feature. (Does anyone know why this stupid feature was invented in SD cards anyways, It is so annoying and ruins SD card products.) crwys, Mar 21, 2011 Top #1 Member PPSainity Blinded by Science Joined: Jun 6, 2009 Messages: 646 Featured Posts: 0 Country: Might be an obvious fix, but you didn't mention if you did check the SD Lock switch on the card. From Nintendo Support: "The SD Card is locked. To save, move, or erase data, please unlock the SD Card." Quoted from QUOTE: If you receive this error message, it appears that the SD or SDHC Card has a switch set to "locked." Please try the following: 1. Go back to the Wii menu, and turn the power OFF on the Wii console. 2. Remove the SD or SDHC Card from the Wii console, and look for a small switch. 3. Ensure the switch is in the "unlocked" position. 4. Re-insert the SD or SDHC Card 5. Power the console back ON and try again. If the steps above do not help, try another SD

I have tried both Debian and Ubuntu and the https://gbatemp.net/threads/my-wii-sd-slot-wont-let-me-write-files-to-my-sd-card.284541/ disk appears in the alt boot screen as expected. I select the disk and then it asks me what I would like to do. I hit 1, and then select Ubuntu (or Debian originally). The screen flashes and then the text goes really small. This all seems fine, then after about 10 seconds I get the following: I am using a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013) 2.7GHz, i7 and the https://github.com/SevenBits/Mac-Linux-USB-Loader/issues/85 OSX on there is all up to date, running Yosemite 10.10.5 I am using a 128GB SD card from Transcend (JetDrive Lite 130) so it's not really a USB drive, but I presume that should be okay, since it gets to the boot screen and all okay. Anyway fingers crossed someone has come across this and has an answer. Sorry I should add I installed the following individually: ubuntu-14.04.3-desktop-amd64 debian-live-8.2.0-amd64-kde-desktop Owner SevenBits commented Sep 17, 2015 @markwylde Your SD card should work, but just to try ruling things out, could you try it on a standard USB drive? Based on the error messages it seems that Linux is having some difficulty reading the drive... markwylde commented Sep 21, 2015 Yeah it works as expected on a USB device :( Owner SevenBits commented Sep 22, 2015 @markwylde Looks like Linux can't read from your SD card then. Maybe it's a driver issue. Regardless, it's an issue with Linux and not Mac Linux USB Loader. SevenBits closed this Sep 22, 2015 JasonJWilliamsNY commented Nov 13, 2015 I get a similar message. I have tried this with several different USB drives (8-16GB). It takes >1000 seconds to boot. Happy to provide more details - this is the first (nearly) working solution I've found. Thanks! Owner Sev

Here's how it works. Last year we shared two guides with you that other people had written — the original and a revision — on how to back up and play your Wii games from an external hard drive. Unfortunately, like many things on the internet, the guides faded into the digital night (read: they were taken down). Setting up your Wii with an external hard drive is a wildly popular topic, however, and since the old guides went offline, we've received daily emails on the topic. In response to the demand, here's our own complete guide to setting up your Wii to play games from a USB hard drive. When laid out screen-by-screen this guide is quite lengthy, but the process itself only takes about 10 minutes start to finish — if you're not stopping to take lots of screenshots and write a tutorial along the way! This guide will show you how to activate an exploit on your Wii to allow more advanced Homebrew software to run, how to setup and format an external USB hard drive to play nice with your Wii, and how to manage the process of backing up your games and displaying them in cover-flow inspired style. When you're done your games will be load fast, be immune from scratches and mishandling, and be displayed in a way that will make your friends envious. Before you delve into the project why don't we take a peek at this video demonstration of the interface to help you decide if it's worth it — it's so worth it, but who's going to say no to a video tour? Ready to call in sick and spend the day setting up your Wii? No? Watch the video again. Precautions and the Necessary Hardware: Before we get started, let's review some necessary cautions and the tools we'll need. Anytime you mess around with a piece of closed hardware like a Wii and start monkeying with the guts you risk bricking your toy. Have we ever bricked
