Details SYMPTOM After setting ‘Use SSL for agent to server communication’ in agent’s policy set, endpoints user guide are not able to perform DAUs or receive patch deployments. In the Lumension Patch Agent .log, the following error is found: 2012/12/07 15:05:04.0813,0,HttpSession::DoHead: Head failed to host https://hostname: Head request Error (110b) occurred opening request to /gravitix/. The error string is: (The lumension service and certificate common name is invalid. The error code is 12038.), head return=0x110b, HTTP Error=0 [HttpSession.cpp:151] CAUSE The SLL certificate issued for the LEMSS server is using the fully-qualified domain name (FQDN) and the patch agent is configured to use the hostname. This prevents the patch agent from authenticating and establishing SSL communication. RESOLUTION Stop LEMSS and Patch agent services on the endpoint.
