I am running Windows 7 Professional with Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010. It has been visual basic working perfectly until now. When I start Word I get the error "Microsoft Access 2010 requires Visual Basic for Applications. If you continue, Visual Basic will be installed." This then starts a series of uneventful installations one after the other until finally stopped and then an error report with instructions opens and talks visual basic for about macro security settings. This only happens when opening Word - not any other Microsoft Office programs. By the way, changing those security settings did not work. I have tried all "fixes" offered and nothing has worked including registry changes and even Microsoft's Fixit. What am I missing? I would suggest you try to launch Word 2010 in safe mode and see if issue persists: Press Win + R and type "winword.exe /safe" in the blank box, then press Enter. Some have reported that it was caused by some third party add-ins and disabling all the add-ins fixed the issue. Please have a try and feel free to post back with any findings. I recently installed ProPresenter 5 on it, and when I try to import a PowerPoint-presentation I'm told "PowerPoint is not detected". According to their support it's because the feature Visual Basic for Applications isn't enabled. The problem is that when I try to follow their guide to enable it, and in Programs and Features click Change I only get a windows asking me if I want to repair Microsoft Office Click-to-Run. If I choose no it just closes, if I choose yes it repairs for a couple of minutes with no apparent changes. Is there any other way to enable Visual Basic for Applications? windows-7 installation microsoft-powerpoint microsoft-office-2010 share|improve this question asked Oct 21 '14 at 9:49 Punchlinern 192111 If that is so, why is there an option whether or not to install it? renewedvision.com/images/VBA/step3.png –Punchlinern Oct 22 '14 at 10:43 It's installed by default, but fair enough. It could be not installed. –Raystafarian Oct 22 '14 at 12:02 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote The Click-to-Run version of Office 2010 is a disaster area where add-ins and external automation is concerned. VBA may or may not be installed, but the whole of Office 2010 runs in a virtual machine that doesn't expose itself or its registry entries to the outside, wh
