YOu can use IsNull() function to check if value is null: Code: If Not IsNull(rs1.Fields(0)) Then Text1.Text = rs1.Fields(0) End If OR Text1.Text = "" & rs1.Fields(0) will also work. Solved Runtime error 94 visual basic invalid use of null Posted on 2008-03-11 Visual Basic Classic MS Access Databases 1 Verified Solution 6 Comments 6,612 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-25 I'm working in a database where I did not do the coding. I got it from a co-worker who has since left the company. I'm trying to load the data and I am visual basic runtime getting a runtime error 94 invalid use of null. I've checked in the tables I know this database uses and I do not see anything out of line with the formatting or data. I load this data in every day and it usually runs without complaint. I'm getting this error when I was trying to load one day. I have tried to see if I could load the next day and that gives the same error. If I go to the previous day which worked fine I get the error again, so I don't think it is a data issue, but I'm not sure what's going on. This is the line that's causing trouble. I've attached what I could from the load sequence below, so you can see where this line plays in. >>>>>> varMinutesAged = DateDiff("n", CDate(rstDailyTicketsToDate!OriginationDate), CDate(rstDailyTicketsToDate!ClosedDate)) Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! Do Until rstDailyTicketsToDate.EOF If varPriorOriginationDay <> rstDailyTicketsToDate!OriginationDay Then rstDailyTicketMetrics.Seek varPriorOriginationDay, adSeekF

Below is the code that pops up when I click "debug". Can anyone figure out why I keep getting this message and how I can fix it? Much thanks! ----------------------------------------------- Private Sub Form_Load() Me.OrderBy = "[ID] ASC" Me.OrderByOn = True Dim rst As Object Dim rCount As Integer Set rst = Me.RecordsetClone On Error Resume Next rst.MoveLast On Error GoTo 0 rCount = rst.recordCount Dim SName As String Dim SSurname As String SName = DLookup("SName", "Students", "SSN='" & StudentId & "'") SSurname = DLookup("SSurName", "Students", "SSN='" & StudentId & "'") lblNumEntry.Caption = "Student " & SName & " " & SSurname & " has " & rCount & " Intake records" DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acLast If rCount = 1 Then btnNext.Enabled = False btnPrevious.Enabled = False Else btnNext.Enabled = False btnPrevious.Enabled = True End If End Sub Reply With Quote 09-23-09,02:18 #2 kristle.sison26 View Profile View Forum Posts Registered User Join Date Feb 2009 Posts 23 First make your "On Error" a comment line so it will highlight the line where error arise. Code: 'On Error Resume Next ..... 'On Error GoTo 0 then tell us what line is highlighted so that it is easier to help you. Mostly, I encounter this error when giving value to a control from my record on database. When the result is zero or does not match to any record. e.g. Code: Text1.text = rst!StudentID if rst!StudentID is null then that error message will pop-up Good Luck Reply With Quote 09-23-09,09:16 #3 rbchoi View Profile View Forum Posts Registered User Join Date Sep 2009 Posts 2 I re-created the whole thing and
