Windows 7: VS 2010 Ultimate - Application Error Reporting to Be Installed 13 Dec 2014 #1 samcnet win 7 64 bit 4 posts http://www.itninja.com/question/microsoft-application-error-reporting-11-failed-to-install VS 2010 Ultimate - Application Error Reporting to Be Installed Seen this in other threads but I'm hoping to get an answer to a specific question below: "How to remove Application Error Reporting from list of components to install during visual studio VS 2010 setup" If you're wondering why? I'm installing VS 2010 Ultimate 64 bit on Win7 enterprise 64bit and it fails at installing Application Error Reporting. I've tried to troubleshoot this, but I'd like to try by passing application error reporting to see if I can continue, as I already have it installed and enabled. My MSI log files give error 1603, which is very common and people say it's a corrupted installer, but I have my doubts. Any help is appreciated. visual studio reporting My System Specs Computer type PC/Desktop OS win 7 64 bit samcnet View Public Profile Find More Posts by samcnet . 13 Dec 2014 #2 essenbe Windows 7 Enterprise X64/Windows 10 Enterprise X64/Windows 10 Pro X64/Linux Mint 18,885 posts NW Florida This is unfamiliar territory for me, but, if you are using the ISO, try using the web install (bootstrapper) the difference is the ISO contains everything for every scenario, where as the Bootstrapper is a small lightweight download and determines what it needs to install and downloads those things from the internet, I have read. You may give that a try. is this to you? Average Rating 4 10858 views 08/15/2012 Software Deployment Package Development Windows Installer (MSI) Error Messages Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Microsoft Dynamics GP Microsoft Dynamics GP 10 Hi, I am a software packager. I am trying to repackage Microsoft Dynamics GP10 SP4 10.00.1378.000 and use it on Windows Server 2008 R2. I have created an installation package and I'm trying to install the package silently i.e. install without user interaction. The Dynamics GP package requires some prerequisites. Microsoft Application Error Reporting 11 is one of them. I can run the MSIs of all other prerequisites to install them separately but not the Microsoft Application Error Reporting 11. The MSI name of the Application Error Reporting is dw20shared.msi. When I double click on the MSI, it will run but the event log will show the below error: Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Microsoft Application Error Reporting. Product Version: 11.0.8156.0. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation. Installation success or error status: 1603. However, If I run the Setup.exe of Microsoft Dynamics, the package will detect Microsoft Application Error Reporting is not installed then install it successfully. So I guess the Setup.exe may pass some values to the dw20shared.msi that do not exist in the msi. I have Googled the problem for some time and noticed other people had the same problem, but no one had a fix. Can anyone in the forum please give me a hand? Thanks in advance.
