If so please post it - it could be in a temp directory. Try using a search tool like locate32 to search something like vm*.log. If such does not why does it not VMware?2) What exactly IS error 1920? I'll guess that VMware has a glossary of their error codes but if they are proprietary why not just emit "unknown error" or "unknown internal error". and not emit a specific code to the user who can't use the informationTo your paticular problem. Have you tried using a dedicated uninstaller program to remove WS 7?. I like revouninstaller (freeware or shareware) because in "advanced" mode it creates a system restore point before running the native installer/uninstaller program and then its own (VMware does NOT).. You will find well in excess of 100 leftovers after WS 7 is "uninstalled." .There does exist a KB article about how to completely remove WS iin Windows (I think 1308) but s

I used to be able to "Run as Administrator," and in the http://www.techezone.com/question/cant-stop-vmware-services-in-order-to-uninstall-workstation-11/ past couple of weeks this no longer works (I get asked for an actual admin password, which never used to happen). Now I can "Run with elevated privileges," but this doesn't appear to http://blog.vmpros.nl/2012/01/09/vmware-viewerror-1920-service-vmware-view-composer-svid-failed-to-start/ be sufficient to stop the various VMware services so that I can uninstall Workstation 11. The uninstall fails with the message: "The MSI failed. Service "VMware Authorization Service" (VMAuthdService) could not be stopped. vmware authorization Verify that you have sufficient privileges to stop system services."Trying to stop the services manually either through services.msc or the Task Manager Services tab also tell me that access is denied when trying to stop the services. So, indeed, it appears I don't have the privileges necessary to stop services. How can I uninstall Workstation 11, preferably without having to call my IT desk just to do vmware authorization service so... I was able to install... I'd like to be able to uninstall. As an alternative, are there VMware settings that prevent it from auto-starting itself/tray/services? I don't recall ever telling it to, so I was a bit dismayed by the system tray icon and running services I discovered... do you ask users to accept this upon installation? application servicesstopping_servicesuninstall_fail Please login or Register to Submit Answer Username Password Remember Me Answers :Found no answers..!!
