Tech support at the remote computer end has no idea what the problem is, so for now I'm on my own. When I try to log on, I get the error: "Secure VPN Connection terminated by Peer. Reason 427: Unkown Error occurred at Peer." . I've uninstalled and reinstalled the https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/23372615/Cisco-VPN-Client-error-Secure-VPN-Connection-terminated-by-Peer-Reason-427-Unkown-Error-occurred-at-Peer.html client, I installed it on a second computer, and in all instances I get the same error. I can connect to other companies using the same VPN client install. The only thing that I can find about potential problems is to switch the transport setting from IPSEC over to IPSec over TCP. But I would need a Port number. What Port number should I use? Or what can I direct tech-support where to look to determin. It has 10000 by default and that didn't work. I also tried unchecking Enable Transparent Tunneling. Also, for troubleshooting, I enabled logging. However the log does not show any error or information related to this problem. 0 Question by:crxi Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 1 Best Solution bycrxi Someone other than the tech support tried to vpn using my id and pw. Error 427: unknown error occurred at peer. This error can only occur when you are trying to set up a VPN connection on top of a wireless connection and the LAN cable is not connected. In that case you have to disable the 'regular' LAN connection. For this purpose go to the control panel (in classical view) - network connections and then make a right-click on the LAN connection and click "disable" (NOT the LAN for the Cisco Client but the LAN for the ethernet card) and select "disable". Please note, if the computer has to able to connect over an ethernet/utp cable, the LAN connection has to enabled again. In our corporate we are using TMG 2010 R2, our users are facing problem in connecting Cisco VPN which they use to connect to our client location, when the users initiate connection the logon prompt box for VPN credential appears, once the users put the credential they get a Error 427: Unknown Error occurred at Peer.Below is the error screenshot. we previously were using ISA 2006 it is woking perfectly fine and still working properly. I have already added the UDP port 10000, 4500 and 500 onto the allow policy, i don't know if i am missing anything in TMG since its working perfectly in ISA. kindly help me on this since its taken a toll on me and i am not able to roll out ISA due to this problem.Micheal Nishit Wednesday, November 02, 2011 10:25 AM Reply | Quote All replies 0 Sign in to vote Hi, Thank you for the post. Please make sure to set the client as SecureNET, that is the default getway for the this client should be pointing to TMG Server internal ip. Meanwhile, I’d like to know the following: 1. Does this issue occur to all the clients? 2. What OS of the problematic machines? 3. What is TMG logging tell? We have already added the Route for the VPN IP to our local IP of TMG onto our core switch to enable the SecureNet. Below are the answers for your question: 1. Yes this issue occurs to all the client. 2. Its Windows XP SP3 with Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 (FYI: I have disabled the Symantec and tried still the same problem) 3. In the logging when the user initiate the connection it says connection initiated on UDP 500 and IPsec NAT-T Client 4500 and then the login prompt box appear, once the credential is given there is no logging recorded then an error pops up in user system of which the above screenshot is mentioned and i get a logging stating closed connection UDP 500 and IPsec NAT-T Client 4500 and
