Reboot the server. 2. Reperform the vssadmin list writers command. 3. If writers are not all listed as "Stable" with "No Errors", please reapply the latest RollUp or Update for VSS from Microsoft. After doing this, ntbackup still failed and VSS events 12292 and 20 were logged in the application log.Following the process in ME941956 solved those issues. x 15 Anonymous ME940184 solved the problem for me, apparently, a registry key might be corrupted. x 11 Anonymous the same issue with regard to the Visio key.
