I downloaded and manually installed the certificate succesfully, however the event is still showing up in the eventviewer. Using Windows 7 32 bit. Windows Update says: "Windows is Up To Date" I looked also at this thread, but no obvious answer (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprogeneral/thread/83874a44-8d94-4d90-ab22-fc62a3507c1b) Thanks! Running win 7 64 bit. Sent in a trouble ticket to the windows update team since the cert is coming from this site. Have yet to hear back. Update: Looks like Microsoft got it fixed. The last CAPI2 entry was dated 7:09 pm tonight. Anytime there is an error related to windows update, you can send in a trouble ticket for free and they usually respond pretty quickly. To get rid of this error, I found out I had to run certutil -urlcache * delete. After running this command, the error didn’t appear in my eventlog anymore. To do the same, follow these steps: Temporarily turn off UAC. To do so, click Start, type UAC and select “Change User Account Control Settings” (search result). In the User Account Control window, set the slide bar to Never Notify. Reboot your computer. Open a command prompt. To do so, click Start, type cmd and click “cmd.exe” (search result) In the command prompt, type certutil -urlcache * delete . Press ENTER Turn on UAC again and reboot your computer.
