How do they do this? Since they haven’t incorporated internal Wi-Fi into appliances yet, all these boards are connected to each other by special wire harnesses called serial communications cables. All this data exchange is fact-checked and verified by a process called “handshaking” (yes, that’s

The "F28" fault code indicates the communication between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the Motor Control Unit (MCU) cannot be sent correctly. Since it appears to be an intermittant issue, I suspect it may have a loose wire connection or a faulty Motor Control Unit (MCU). Possible Causes / Procedure: Unplug the washer or disconnect power. Check wire harness connections to the MCU, the motor and Central Control Unit (CCU). Check connections of the CCU board within the housing. Make sure all grounding switches are engaged. Check the drive system for any worn or failed components. Plug in washer or reconnect power. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any cycle. Check the MCU

I've unplugged the machine then attempted to start it again the and what happens is some water will begin to flow in, then stop and about 5 minutes will go by and the F28 code comes back on. I've been looking at various threads online pertaining to possible fixes from "rebooting the control unit" to "replacing the control unit" but all the models are slightly different (duet sport/different model #). One of the videos that shows how to take out the ccu (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XhyMOz7qxE), that machine is different from the one we have, I've taken off the top and the ccu isn't located there. Another thread that says to take out the detergent tray and find the reboot switch, well I did that and found nothing so I'm not sure what model that may be. Really just want to fix this, a new machine is about $1100 and calling a repair man is $160 in our area and that may take a couple weeks to have him come down, so neither are really appealing options. Hope to hear from you guys soon and only the best, Jesse Vodvarka Related ModelsWhirlpoolWFW9200SQ01AUTOMATIC WASHERWhirlpoolWFW9200SQ02AUTOMATIC WASHERWhirlpoolWFW9200SQ03AUTOMATIC WASHERWhirlpoolWFW9200SQ04AUTOMATIC WASHERWhirlpoolWFW9200SQ10AUTOMATIC WASHERWhirlpoolWFW9200SQA10AUTOMATIC WASHERWhirlpoolWFW9200SQA11AUTOMATIC WASHERWhirlpoolWFW9200SQA12AUTOMATIC WASHERWhirlpoolWFW9250WL00AUTOMATIC WASHERWhirlpoolWFW9250WL01AUTOMATIC WASHERWh
