Setup.exe Is Not A Valid Win32 Application Windows 7
Last Modified: 2013-11-17 I'm trying to repair a Dell Inspiron 5150 for a client who thought the hard drive was bad. I ran microscope on the "bad" hard drive, and found no errors, but replaced it anyway for good measure. I installed Windows XP sp2, and everything was fine. I downloaded all the necessary drivers from Dell to a usb drive so I could install them on the laptop. I plugged in the usb d is not a valid win32 application drive and got an error. "error loading newdev.dll %1 is not a valid win32 application." About a minute later the computer rebooted itself. Now the loading bar on the Dell splash screen get's about 95% done, and I get a message saying "Primary hard disk drive 0 not found no bootable devices--strike f1 to retry boot, f2 for setup utility." If I enter the bios, on the first page under Primary Hard Drive: it displays none. I removed the hard drive, and reseated it, and I still get the message. 0 Question by:bizzen Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 10 Best Solution bykcarrim Please have a look at this article: Event ID 7000 and "%1 Is Not a Valid Win32 Application" Error Message When You Start a Service http://support.microsoft.com/?id=812486 Power off the Dell, hold Go to Solution 19 Comments LVL 34 Overall: Level 34 Laptops/Notebooks 17 Storage Hardware 8 Message Assisted Solution by:jamietoner2007-03-28 Swap the old drive back in and see if its detected. I have an older lexmark P707 and it works fine and the software loads fine on my computer. For some reason when I win32 application plug the new X2350 to computer with the USB this error mes. pops up "error loading newdev.dll %1 is not a valid win 32 application" plus for some reason the install disk keeps telling me I have no HD space to load info. I know I have about 80% of my 40 GIG HD available. I called Lexmark and asked why?, they are telling me it is looking for C: drive to install not a valid info. well when I installed this HD and reinstalled windows XP for some reason my drive letters are wacky. floppy is A: one disk drive is D: one is E: and HD is F: Lexmark tells me it will never install 'cuz it is trying to install to C: "but my other Lexmark printer will install with no prob. why?" they had no answer to that question. I'm so confused, someone please help. any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Edited part: sorry I forgot to mention I even went to Lexmark site and tried downloading drivers from there I have it saved to desk top but still same prob. when I try to install that way. so I have the install disk that came with it and the drivers downloaded directly from Lexmark. buckslayer, May 24, 2006 #1 Sponsor buckslayer Thread Starter Joined: Sep 28, 2004 Messages: 108 now I have a real prob. not thinking before. I uninstalled everything for my old printer to hookup and install this new one. I just tried to reinstall old printer and getting same error mes. but not the mes. telling me I have no HD space instead when I try to install disk for old printer I get this mes. 16 BIT WINDOWS SUBSYSTEM F:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC
