Backing up to portable hard drive, plenty of room, NTFS format, USB2. Does anyone know what the problem might be. Try verifying the user permissions using below steps: 1. Click the Start buttun and then click Computer or My Computer. 2. Browse to the destination drive or folder used by Norton Ghost to save the backups. 3. Right-click on the destination drive, and then click Properties. 4. On the Security tab, click Advanced. 5. On the Permissions tab, under Permission entries, check if Local/domain administrator group, Domain user account, and local SYSTEM are listed. If not listed, click Add, and then insert the group/account to the list. 6. Click Edit, and then modify the group or account which does not have full control. 7. Click the checkbox for Full Control under Allow. 8. Click OK. 9. Do one of the following: For Windows Vista: Enable the option Include inheritable permissions from the object's parent. For Windows XP: Enable the following two options: -Inherit from parent the permission entries that apply

This was while trying to image a notebook drive hooked to a PC through an IDE adapter. Has no one responded to this? Somebody help us!!! I just had this problem because my shared folder permissions had everyone as "read" rather than full control. set it to full control (NTFS permissions can be used to apply more restrictive access if necessary).make sure whatever account your using has write access to the folder your saving the image to.the above post is a bit misleadi
